I just came across the person in NLC who will do the new items. -

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/thorr69/Maple0002.jpg

This screen was taken during my conversation with her. It appears as if the new weapons will be upgradeable via quest. The items listed above each have a suffix of '-suma' or '-magna' which indicates which version you currently have,

Also of note, we are supposed to be testing out multiple pets (Though nobody can really get any pets because of the cash shop situation). This girly here talks about how the Taru tribe and their pets would 'become one'. Looks like the new card set will really beef up the pet population.

Not to offend by a 'double post' (it is 5 days later than my last one..)

My digging here indicates that these weapon upgrades are the new 'quests' that the advert is saying can be unlocked with Pets. The data seems to indicate that you need to have a Pet from the new P3ts set in order to get the Feather needed to start these quests. The pointers are a bit hazy, but I think that's what they are telling me. In the end, it looks like you need some iTCG items to make the initial weapons and then will need a Pet for the quests that upgrade them.

With this set due out in a couple of weeks, hopefully we will get more concrete information very soon. :D

I've been looking through the MTS stuff and found stats for Some of the items not fully listed above.

Taru Face Paint - Gives +100 Avoidability for 5 minutes.
Spirit Herbs - Give +90 Magic Attack for 20 minutes
Primal Brew - Gives +35 Weapon Attack and +10 Accuracy for 20 Minutes
Jungle Juice - Restores 1000HP and 2000HP

Ill organize this later, but for now..

C04 Prefix = Skunk pet
C05 Prefix = Orange Tiger pet
Codes either gives usable items, lvl 10 versions of above items, or taru spirit cape.
In order to upgrade weapons, you need a lvl 15 pet, and taru spirit feathers. How many feathers is unconfirmed.
Gryphon, (and other Krakian jungle monsters?) uncommonly drops the etc. item jungle lily. Someone mentioned the Taru cape and needing 10 of these to forge...

Corinne States that you need 1 Feather to do the first quest (Lvl 10 -> lvl 40) and you need 2 feathers for the second one (lvl 40 -> lvl 80). Theonly thing I haven't found is how to get the feathers (they may be code items, they may be earned, I just don't know yet.)

I have opened 2 of my 3 booster boxes so far. I have a complete set of cards and am 8 cards shy of a complete set of code cards. Only 3 Pet codes so far. I did get one of each of the new ones. Here are the full descriptions -

Orange Tiger - They are very Gentle and Obedient in nature, easily becoming friendly with the owner, which in turn speeds up the level-up process.

Skunk - Calm and Quiet by nature, the easy-going, eccentric Skunk has humorous and pompous outlook on life, the finer things are what it enjoys.

I haven't got the command books for them, but will post info once I do.

o my, you dropped $200 bucks for the cards?? =X
Maybe you should send me a set or something.. My local hobby store doesn't sell cards anymore... =(

I opened the 3rd box with my son. If my math is correct, I do have at lsast one more complete set of non-code cards. I put the first set in the collection book. I need roughly 5-6 foils to finish off the code card set. I am fairly sure I do have a second set, though. I will be sorting the cards this afternoon and will let you know if I have the supply to make a set I could sell.

FYI - Destroy All Monsters is pretty hard to find. 2 copies in 3 boxes. I still need to find a foil version.

PS - I spent $180 on the cards. I couldn't get my usual wholesale price this time around. I bought from Potomac Distributors this time - http://www.potomacdist.com

So, i updated the look a little, but now i need some help. The first upgrade is simple, but the second upgrade... 50 jungle lilies, 15 wisdom crystals, and a lvl 30 pet seems unrealistic. If anyone would like to help find out exactly what the requirements for the lvl 80 equips are, please feel free to do so, and report here~ thanks in advance. Also, just a side note, my local hobby store no longer will be getting the Maplestory iTCG, so I can't test this out my self..

29 lurkers, come on guys, sign up and speak your mind~

Well I have three 40th level weapons and my pet is level 21 moving to 30 XD. Actually that is correct. 15 Wisdom Crystals and 50 Jungle Lilies. I'll try to get a SS next time I'm in NLC so that you can see it.

Its a pain in the rear. I'm basically ravaging the Gryphons on the 2x drop event days. They drop more then with a 2x drop card stacked. Just the events are running out and last night I got a taste of how hard it is to get them without the event. Its painful.

I would be doing this myself if my character wasn't screwed.

i am wondering if you can upgrade weapons that aren't in your class, though?

If this process is so ridiculously hard, I have to wonder if these items are even going to fetch a high price. In comparing the lvl 80 Mage Staff with say, the Kage (lvl 75), it's only marginally better. It is very slightly better than the average lvl 85 staff.

Lvl 30 pet, too? Jeez. Who has the patience to even bother with that just to get equips that aren't really worth it?

I am thinking I wasted my money on this set. I made a ton of mesos witht he others, but this one is not going to pay off unless I get a ton of capes.

ADD - I do have enough cards to make another full set and am about 6 cards shy of a third.

Rualyn

You can upgrade any of the weapons you want to. I have a claw, a bow, and a mage staff upgraded to 40th. Its still to be seen if it will pay off but I'm doing it anyway. I didn't redeem a lot of codes because of the long-term work and I don't want to deal with the clog. But I got just enough to test the waters with this.

3 is enough to start with and see how the market reacts to it once any of them are upped to Magna.

The skunk is cute, but too girly for me. The stripe isn;t really white but is a bit pink. IRL, I have always wanted a skunk for a pet. But the skunk I have for my character is not that great.

Of course, if I had known how bad the Orange Tiger would screw me over, I would have taken the skunk.

Wigum
28th May 2008, 10:28 PM
tiger screwed you over? and girly skunks are okay cause im a girl :P Well if you have a spare skunk code that you have no use for... :)

Thorr
28th May 2008, 10:30 PM
If I had an extra Skunk code, I would sell it to you for real cheap. I am fairly sure my unused pet code is a tiger though.

Here is the story with my Orange Tiger -
http://www.hidden-street.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30613

I have seen 2-3 threads on the Nexon forums saying that they are having similar problems.

Wigum
28th May 2008, 10:36 PM
ah - that sucks and is odd I remember that thread now :P Cause i was called some unflattering things

Thorr
28th May 2008, 10:41 PM
Ah yes, I forgot about that intruder.

The problem still isn;t fixed. I keep hoping for headway in the server checks and patches, but nothing so far.

Personally, I just want to see a server check happen that makes all pets inactive. That would allow me to fix my problem and it would not really hurt anyone since they would only have to double click their pet to get him back. If they did that, then I could start my character, activate a different pet, then remove the offending item and get back to playing.

Hoping for a quick answer here, and this is the best place for this one... any idea what the pets are worth when selling? I have an orange tiger i'm thinking of selling, but i may just use it... not sure yet. D: Thanks!

Edit: According to a guildy, probably around 50mil+ depending on who's offering. Sound about right?
