That's not exactly what most games refer to as a tank though. A tank is generally a class that absorbs the damage from boss or mob hits. With the way maple is set up, most ranged classes will pot every hit (unless heavily HP washed) on newer bosses/mobs.
With bosses like Scarlion, warriors can "tank" by rushing, but they aren't really absorbing the damage of a boss; other party members still take ranged damage.

HP is much more important in Maple than Def. 1 point of Def won't even close to take off 1 damage from equal lvl mobs. This is why my MoN is much more effective to wear (defense-wise) than my HT pendant. The HP from the MoN gives a much bigger boost than the Defense on the HT pendant.

That may be the case, but my tank has a giant barrel that fires explosives. He made Ergoth go boom.
