You can choose to and you also can choose not to. But a 5th year is the most healthiest choice for students going to university/college

Not exactly, there are people who feel unprepared to go to secondary education so they take an extra year... I'm taking a 5th year. I'm not failing but there are some credits i need to obtain since i take french and business every year and that kinda delays the process

Not surprisingly, you are wrong once again.

If you're taking a 5th year you're doing it wrong.
You are better off just getting a GED and calling it quits if you're doing that bad in your Senior year.

The healthiest choice is to get into a 2year program where do you do 9th and 10th grade normally, then you do 11th and 12th 'grades' in college instead, so that by the time you are 18 (12th grade over)/graduating high school, you have an Associate's.

i take business and french every single year in high school, so my credits are delayed. I'm taking a 5th year to get all the extra ones filled up.

My High School doesn't have enough funds for summer school. So if you fail a class, you're either super screwed, or you have to take adult school classes
