So then why is he so ****ing stupid in both Batman: The Animated Series, and the film with Poison Ivy? I can't remember a single speaking line in either one for him. Then again, both of those were likely horribly off-canon (though I think I do remember Ra's Al Ghul in the animated series).

From what I've seen of him in media, most of them (regardless of his physical or as you say mental capabilities) give him two major traits:
    1. Great strength, but with his mask as an Achilles Heel.
    2. Not the true leader, instead following someone else.

This wasn't really an exception, even though here they made him seem like the leader.

Batman and Robin is pretty much the worst portrayal of villians; even dumber and more awfully campy than the '60s show. Every Batman fan absolutely hates the Bane in that movie. It's absolutely nothing like his original introduction.

Also, what are you smoking? He was perfectly fine in the '90s series if you actually watched it. Even I got that, and I was like 8 or something when I watched it/read the comics.

Not even a mildly casual Batman fan would think Bane is dumb.

(I've never bought the comics. My brother got a volume 1 anthology, but of course it didn't get anywhere near Bane's intro. Also, explains why I spelled Bane as Bain. As for the nineties show, well my memories are sorta garbled, about the only episodes I remember clearly was several of the about Clayface episodes, including one in a relaunch where he split off a part of himself as a "daughter" so that he could heal or something. I saw a few Bane episodes, but I always remember him as a hired thug rather than a free-agent like the Riddler or Joker, so I kinda figured he was too stupid to lead on his own. That combined with the fact that he thought he could go up against the freakin' Batman made me think he was unbelievably stupid, regardless of genius-level savvy.

But yea, I did get the sense that Batman and Robin sucked horribly. )

Because chris nolan made batman more real than anyone expected.

Yea. It made me actually wanna at least get the miniseries this is based on.

(I've been mainly a Spider Man fan, with some interest in sort of off-brand heroes like Sleepwalker)

Why the console experience is much better.

Facebook is, because all you do is post on walls. Twitter, maybe (dunno much about Twitter). Forums? Probably not, unless you really can't connect with anyone (though it doesn't replace offline stuff) because people respond. And in Chat thread, they're of course guaranteed to be on topic with the last poster.
