    I've never played DotA but since DotA 2 apparently the same thing as the first game I guess I'll wait for it.

    I predict DotA 2 will eventually become Defense of the Hats 4 Trade though.

    Give it time. Still a long way to go for DotA 2 imo. All they've released is a bunch of artwork ( 3 to be exact iirc ) and mention a bunch of features, which I find incredibly amusing tbh ( the community's reactions )

    Remember last year when HoN was announced? It maintained DotA's gameplay and had reconnect functions, external identitys, better graphics and in-built VOIP, and everybody at that time were yelling ripoff, only kiddies will sell out for better graphics etc. Now it's basically the same thing only with Icefrog's stamp and all the fanboys out there are riding his ****.

    Being on Source's engine, lag's gonna be an issue imo. We'll just wait and see how Valve manages this one. I'll no doubt buy it, but I'm not gonna get overhyped by some pictures and vague promises.

    Well this Valve version is staying truer to the original character designs, which is really all DotA-players can identify with.
    When HoN was released, the new characters and slightly-altered gameplay was baffling.

    Hopefully DotA 2 will feature the same basic gameplay with only external features to improve it (reconnect, stat checking, AI-takeovers, etc) as opposed to completely new spells and items and whatnot.

    Never played dota but since valve is making dota 2 must be worth a shot lol. Also being on source engine if it is how will they combat mic spammers.
