    Default Microsoft Security Essentials

    I just completely reformatted my XP computer.
    I downloaded microsoft security essentiual... well i tried to.
    This keeps popping up:

    I had MSE on this comp before i reformatted. But now i get this

    So you reinstalled Windows. Did you use the original disc to reinstall?

    Yes it was the original disc. We only had one windows XP cd

    I'm guessing you need to validate your copy of Windows XP.

    On the XP disc? Yes i did if that is what you are asking. I still get that damn error :S

    It might be an invalid product key. If you can use Windows, though, I found a program that looks a bit dodgy, but removes any Windows Genuine errors. I can send that to you, if you like.

    Sure i'll try anything to get it working again.. PS you won't find my email on fb Pm me either here or there

    Ok what the hell, i restarted my computer and then MSE successfully downloaded... that's it, i'll never understand technology

    Restarting is like the magic cure-all of the computer world. It works on a lot of things and doesn't work on a lot of things. When it works you don't always know why, and when it doesn't work you still don't always know why.
