I found this article over at bit-tech, and I thought it was interesting. I was always aware of academic grade inflation (something I hate with a passion), but I didn't realize something similar was happening to reviews on the internet. I wonder if there's a correlation in these events? Perhaps grade inflation is making the next generation have inflated expectations about score percentages in everything (not just school) which in turn drives the next generation reviewers (and the current reviewers) to cater to those inflated expectations.
