IGN/Gamespy flushes 13 years of gaming history down the drain

It seems that IGN/Gamespy is shutting down its hosting services after thirteen years at the end of August this year. Including the sites being shut down are Classicgaming.net, RPGplanet, Planetquake, and Strategyplanet.
If you're a PC gamer, you've probably visited one of the many sites about to be shut down. For maps, mods, or updates of any sort. Many fansites still have a devoted following for many games. Classicgaming will be missed.

I don't use the IGN network
I don't use the IGN network for anything actually.. Google rarely gives any info from anything in that network if trying to find anything and gametrailers network is a lot better.
Sad to hear
Thats sad to hear, I use gamespy from time to time but their navigation is kinda weird. I prefer 1UP or Gametrailers also. But nonetheless they have been around for quite a while and have built a pretty good reputation.
