First, the trailer:

RunMan: Race Around The World, is a game where you will guide the titular character through different courses and ultimately complete the "race around the world." To do this, RunMan will have to jump, bounce, dive, hanglide, and...run, as fast as he can while accumulating as many points as possible before the level is over.

The controls are told to the player within the first couple of stages and are very simple. To make RunMan run, hold down the respective arrow key, left or right. To jump, use the "X" key, and "Zoom" with the Z key. "Zoom" is like a turbo acceleration button, and will make RunMan run even faster the longer the key is held down. A colorful trail will be left behind when RunMan is "zooming." The meter in the upper left corner is RunMan's "Zoom" meter, and will determine how fast RunMan is running and the score multiplier bonus for the current level. Jumping into a solid wall while zooming will cause RunMan to "wall kick,"(although it looks more like bouncing to me, hehe) which will be used frequently throughout RunMan's adventure. RunMan is also able to dive down by using the down arrow key while RunMan is airborne.

Now, RunMan: Race Around The World is more like a fast platforming game than an actual racing game. The best example would be like...a GOOD Sonic the Hedgehog game.

OHHHHHHHHH SNAP!

*cough*

It's true though, and there are plenty of obstacles, hazards, and enemies throughout every level. There are balloons, rocks, ice, bubbles, all sorts of little things to either help, or impede RunMan's success. There are even "spring flowers" to add to RunMan's jump and turbo boost panels to...run faster.

As a plus, RunMan does not have a life meter or lives, and he doesn't need them. RunMan does not "die," even if he falls in a pit. He'll just pop back out, ready to keep on running. The only time RunMan will "die" is on the final level of every world, which are like the "boss stages." It is here where RunMan must run from a big...uh, "monster" otherwise, RunMan will have to restart the level. So while RunMan can't actually get a "game over," the score at the end of the level won't be as good as if he got there without falling into pits, losing zoom, etc. Press "Esc" to open up the menu to restart the level if neccessary.

The game can be played Windowed or in FullScreen. All of the music, by the way, isn't typical of most free games. It's all public domain, and not some generic midi tune. Take a listen. Even after RunMan completes the race, there's still plenty to do, like collect all the medals, bronze, silver, and gold for each level. "Ghosts" can be saved and loaded as well, which is a neat addition.

FINAL VERDICT: RunMan: Race Around The World is a highly entertaining freeware game, and should last quite a while. Very, very well done for a game made with Game Maker. Go play this now and have a blast.

I'm not gonna lie, that was really addicting. The goofy graphics also fit this type of game pretty good, light-hearted and silly, hahaha.
