emailbox's Quick Reference Guide to Demon Slayers (V1)
Currently I haven't actually hit 4th job yet, but here's a quick overview for anyone confused over 2nd/3rd job SP allocations.
I'm sorry this guide is rather plain and not pretty.
I may change it in the future (probably will).
Disclaimer: This is my own opinion of the class from my own (limited) experience with it. You may not copy it and post it elsewhere (any site that is not hidden-street.net or related to said series of sites), and please refrain from being a prick and claiming that my build is "wrong". If you have an opinion on the guide, feel free to post and point out what you did differently/what you liked/what you didn't like, etc.
And now onto the guide.
Booster will help a lot. Note that levels 10-15 literally take all of 5-6 minutes, so don't worry about that. I max Lash first for the damage output, then max Swiftness for the extra mobility. Booster is taken for the extra duration, and Scythe is dead last because it's unlikely you'll ever use it. While it does have rather massive range, it takes a while for it to actually charge up and activate. Holding it down drains HP really fast too; I find it only useful if you're planning to Monster Park from 20-30, in which case I'd max it before Booster.
Get a point into Thrust and Lock (ie, teleport) for the mobility at level 30, as well as the advanced Lash (one point for 40% extra damage is too good). Next I get Mastery to 11 where it sits until I max Outrage. This is because Mastery will help balance your damage quite a bit (your minimum damage should be approximately half your max at this point, with the innate 20% mastery warriors start with), but Outrage will increase your overall damage output. Then go back and max out Mastery.
I actually get Physical Training at this point because it helps more in terms of hits/kill ratios, though you can choose to get Soul Eater first. It does somewhat help at jesters (Soul Eater, that is), though I just used Lash most of the time.
Get Soul Eater next, if you'd like, and then max Vengeance. IMO this skill isn't that great (no damage reduction like PG does), but it contributes ever so slightly to your dps (it also reflects magic like PG does). You then have a choice between Thrust or Lock. Personally, I think maxing Thrust is a waste for several reasons:
1. You only get an extra 6% damage per mob off of it, hardly even noticeable.
2. Lock's Stun chance increases with the last two SP into it (6% from 84%), and the damage increases by 14% instead of 6 per mob. Not that you'll be using Lock to actually kill stuff, but it's nice to have extra stats on it.
3. Thrust is pretty much entirely utility and should not be used for damage.
In short, both are utility skills, but Lock does more with the extra 2 SP than Thrust does.
Alternately you can leave Soul Eater unmaxed (as I haven't found use for it as of yet in 3rd job), and max Thrust. I don't recommend doing that though.
Edit: I hit 120 and realized that Judgement is replaced with Infernal Concussion. I will be resetting into Carrion Breath (as there isn't an equivalent for it in 4th job) with the Hot Time.
And onto the build:
Focused Fury is +1 ATT speed and 25% extra damage, passively. Please get this skill first. Always.
Max Fury will help with spamming your Fury consuming skills, so I get it next.
Then I got Possessed Aegis. Some people will disagree on this, but I actually prefer it. This is because the block can proc (lolrhyme) more than once in a row (it's GLITCHED, so if two mobs attack you and the first one is blocked, then you can still get hit by the 2nd one!), which heals you for a lot of Fury and HP.
Judgement for uber damage at Pirate Den 2.
Then I get what is basically a weaker Chance Attack. I'm not 100% on the time I should max this either, but I did get it maxed. I think it might actually be better to get this after max Vortex (as it stuns, which will proc Insult on your following Judgement), but I didn't actually do that, hehe.
Judgement maxes at 20 but you leave it at 18 so you can max out Carrion Breath later. Reason for this is because Judgement gets replaced; the reason I get it early is because it helps solo training much more than Breath does.
Raven Storm, which is less lustrous than I thought than when I saw the skill description. Doesn't really heal me for that much, and the CD at level 1 is prohibitive to spamming (20s, to be exact). 10s is a little more manageable, but still quite long IMO. The reason you max it is so that you can recover more HP at once (which is very useful).
Vortex next, though again, you can get it before Insult (but still after Raven!). This doesn't synergize with Raven because Raven only hits in one direction, while Vortex pulls from both. You can obviously move to use it, but Vortex -> Judgement is OP. (especially with Insult).
Black-Hearted is a defense buff, essentially. I don't really feel this is necessary until the later levels when you are at LHC, or even till 4th job where you (can) start bossing. Either way, max it.
Judgement is left at 18 because you don't have the SP to max it. It will be replaced in 4th job with a stronger skill, Infernal Concussion.
4th Job
Spoiler!
I'll just put up a textual description.
Normally you should be grabbing a point into most of your attacking skills (Lash lv4, Concussion, CreepyHands, Impact, etc), and going straight for Metamorphosis...
But currently, Metamorph is glitched in gMS and won't do anything. Yeah. I think it gives you the %HP or something, but that's it. Don't get this skill first until the glitch is fixed.
Instead, start with the aforementioned attacking skills and go ahead and max Barricade Mastery (advanced mastery for DSs). This will be the biggest boost to your damage next to the level 4 Lash skill (that maxes at 1 point).
From here it's very situational, and you should max skills according to how you play. Personally I was at LHC for most of my early levels, so I maxed the Draining skill next, and moved to Demon Impact, though I have yet to pass DI20.
And that's all I've gotten to. I will most likely save SP for DI and hope to God that Metamorph gets fixed really really soon.
