“Okay class! Remember that next week is the high school viewing field trip. I’ll be passing out forms to you all for registering which high school you would like to visit. That is all. Class dismissed.” As the homeroom teacher dismisses us, I look at the form he gave us and read off the high school names: Demon High School, Feudal High School, Maiden High School, and Hidden Street High School. Only four choices? I shove the form into my bag and begin to leave the class. I hear various students chatting in the background.
“Hey man! Which school are you visiting?”
“Me? I’m thinking Maiden High! It’s a female only school, but I hear they have a nice selection of girls there! Catch my drift?”
The day ends just like any other day. I can’t help but remember what happened yesterday. It feels like it were a dream. Of course it was by no means a good situation for me, but I just can’t help thinking that a part of me thought it was exciting. Jon then suddenly appears in my mind. Without realizing it, I quickly clutch my chest. Perhaps –I wanted to see him again? Today, I take a safer and local way home where many people are. I make it home without any trouble. I walk languidly into my home and then into my room. I throw my bags onto the floor and fall onto my bed, waiting for next week.

It’s been a week now since our homeroom teacher gave us the High School Visitation Forms. I decided on Maiden High School last week. They have a Medical Profession Program there that can help me reach my goal of becoming a registered nurse. The tuition is expensive, but it’ll be all worth it in the end. Demon High School and Feudal High School are two low level schools that’ll accept anybody. Hidden Street High School is too far away from my home. On top of that, Maiden High School is a female only school, so if I go there, I definitely won’t get raped.

To my surprise, many of my female classmates chose to visit Maiden High School too. The bus just arrived and we are getting off the bus and into the school. Unfortunately, some boys managed to come along simply because the Visitation Form did not exclusively say that only females may visit. The tour of the school is generic and boring. Everyone pays close attention to the information given, and follows direction. So my high school life is going to be just like this too? Just as the tour ends, we begin our way to the bus back to school. There was however a blockade at the gates. A bunch of scary looking boys were standing at the gate. From the looks of their uniform, they look like students from Demon High School. I look around and see that they had taken out the guards by the gates. Why are the guards so useless?
“Alright Maiden High! We ain’t looking for trouble! All you have to do is hand over the famous ace of your school, Jo!” One of the boys announced. All of my classmates froze, including me. We were outside and near the gates. I turn around and look at the boys in our group. They too are frozen. I signal them to do something about this, but they strongly shook their heads and stood there like a deer on the road. I think to myself that no one here is willing to do anything. I want to do something, but I don’t want to do it alone. Especially against a bunch of scary looking boys. What if they touch me? What if they rape me? What if they rape me in front of everyone and the whole school? Once more I turn my head to look at my classmates. There’s nothing I can do, that we can do to get out of this. This must be one of the worst feelings in the world.
“I was just going around picking up a couple of litterbugs and now I’ve got a gang of roaches?” I voice boomed. I look over to where the voice was and see a beautiful girl with dark long hair and sharp eyes, dragging two boys with her by the collar, one in each hand. Those two boys have on Feudal High School’s uniform. “Excuse me Miss Jo, but litterbugs? Come on, we’re just a couple of high school boys having a little fun!” One of them said. “Hah! Speak for yourself Sam! I just tagged along to make sure you didn’t do anything perverted!” The other one said. I recognized this voice. Upon closer inspection, the person speaking is Jon from yesterday.
“Well regardless, boys are not permitted on school grounds without permission. Being the president of the student council though, I’ll pardon you two if you help me exterminate this infestation of roaches.” The girl said. “Well then, how about it Jon? Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.” The boy called Sam said. “Hah! I was getting bored anyways.” Jon replies. The girl released their collars and they both stood up and walked towards the gang of Demon High boys.
“It’s –It’s Jon and Sam?! We weren’t told they were with Jo! Or rather, what are they doing inside this female only school?!” One Demon High boy screamed. ‘That’s not important right now. What’s important now is all of your safety. Will you disobey Omar’s orders and run, or will you stay and have us beat the daylight out of you?” The one called Sam said. Just as he was saying that though, Jon had already charged the Demon High boys and defeated a good number of them. “Of course, these options mean nothing to you since my friend Jon has already decided for you.” Sam added.
One by one, the Demon High boys fell. Some of them started to flee, some stayed behind, and some weren’t fast enough to decide on what to do and were taken down. “Well that was no fun!” Jon smirked. “Really now Jon, you left not even one for me or Miss Jo.” The one called Sam looked over to me and my group and his eyes lit up. He then ran over and stopped in front of me. He grabs both of my hands with both of his and brings them upwards, stationing them between both of our now close body. “Hello miss, my name is Sam. May I have your name?” Sam asks me. “Uh –my name is Sophie.” I reply weakly. “Miss Sophie, I know this is sudden, but will you be my girlfriend?”
My face turns red after I hear him ask me to be his girlfriend. I can’t! I’m not ready for a relationship where I might legitimately get raped! I have to say something! Before I could speak, Sam is pulled away by Jon.
“Quit it Sam. She’s just a middle schooler. She’s probably 13 or 14 or something.”
“Age is just a number! You don’t understand me Jon!”
“Ah! Whatever! Do whatever you want and go to jail.”
Jon walks away, presumably to go back to his school. Sam follows suit after saying goodbye to me. I still stand there silently, not having said anything back to Sam. Soon I see the beautiful girl from before walking towards me, or rather as I discover, towards my group. “I’m sorry for the fright those troublesome hooligans gave you all. I will make sure that we will have more guards at the gate. Do not be scared, this doesn’t always happen here to Maiden High. Rest assured that you will be safe if you decide to school here.” I did not look to confirm it, but surely my group and I stood there confused over the identity of this beautiful girl. “Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Jo and I’m the student council president of Maiden High. It’s nice to meet you all.” Jo said with a warm smile.
“Uh, those boys…” I begin. “Oh don’t worry about them. They may seem a little violent, but they’re nice people. Those two Feudal High boys. You know, Feudal High isn’t a bad school either, it might be a little wild and chaotic, but if Maiden High’s high tuition cost is too much for you, Feudal High is a good alternative.” Jo interrupts.
Not long after, our group left the school and are on our way home by bus. I’m sitting by myself and look out the window at the passing scenery. Maiden High and Feudal High huh? Surely still, Maiden High is the better choice for me. Right? After school ended, the rest of the day nonchalantly passes by just like every other day. Outside of what happened today and yesterday, every single day has been ordinary. Deep in my thoughts somewhere, I didn’t consciously think about it, but all of these days have always been boring, with that bore only broken by what I have experienced yesterday and today. Perhaps I can have an exciting high school life if I go to Feudal High?
