Monster Familiar "Guide"

With the addition of Monster Familiars to Global MapleStory (v1.03, Rise of Fellowship), I thought I would do a little research on these.

EDIT (29 December 2011): Focusing on the passive line, since familiars aren't really used for attacking.

KEY to using these tables:

1. The tables are usually organized in the same order as the Crusader Codex. This is because I used the Codex to find the information on these familiars.
2. The "Rank" column denotes the rarity of each familiar. The method I use to denote rarity is the same as in the Crusader Codex's Familiar tab.

a. C represents a Common familiar. The top right portion of the picture, when hovering your mouse on it, will have a silver moon. When not hovering your mouse over a card, the upper left corner will be grey.
b. U indicates the familiar is Uncommon. When hovering your mouse over the card, a yellow sun icon on the top right portion of the picture. The upper left corner of the card will be yellow when not hovering your mouse over.
c. R indicates the familiar is Rare. A red star icon appears on the top right portion of the picture, and the upper left corner of the card will be red.
d. L indicates a Legendary familiar. The upper left corner is purple, and an 8-point star appears on the top right portion of the picture.

3. Specific information for each table will appear with the table.

Listing for: HP/MP recovery

Each of the familiars here have a passive line that will heal HP and/or MP. (The recovery usually occurs every 10 seconds.)
Generally the wording of the card is
"Continuously restores [HP/MP] [by a small amount/by a large amount] [to party members/to anyone nearby]" or
"Restores [a small amount of/a large amount of] [HP/MP] to [nearby people/party]"
If the description in the Type column says "in location specified," that means the recovery will only take place in the location specified in the Location column.

From my experiences, a "small" amount is usually 5%, and a "large" amount is 15%. If the recovery "size" is not specified, it is 10%.

Not even a newbie would need a familiar, but whatevarr....

I use a familiar.

Jr. Boogies are especially good, since they're so easy to get and heal so much MP (proportionally. I'm a warrior, so it's not actually that much numerically, but it helps)

This is actually a pretty useful resource. Thanks for sharing. I hope you expand it with higher level familiars in the future.

how often do jr boogies heal mp?

Small update, added something I noticed while looking over the Codex. Extra D heals the whole party!

@DlPSHl7: Yes, I use it all the time on my mage. Heals about 2000 MP. I don't need to MP pot anymore!

@00p00: Jr. Boogies (along with all of the other HP/MP healing familiars) heal every 10 seconds.

You should mention there are two different types of healing from familiars. There are some that heal periodically like you mentioned every 10 seconds or so and others that heal continually every second. Don't forget there are soul weapon familiars.

Updated with bosses and a quick find for legendary familiars. Note that these only include bosses.

Also, I have no clue what these "soul weapon" familiars do, probably because I haven't collected one yet. Are they related to Demon Slayer?

From my point of view, I do think so.

Slight necro-post, but the whole guide was revamped. Now easier to find the important stuff!

This thread is so AWESOME. Is there a way I can like or star this thread? Don't say FaceBook. I don't own one. I absolutely detest FaceBook. Anyways, this guide is really, really awesome. It is totally saving me mesos on pots, because of the hp/mp healing familiars. Please update more on them and let me know if I can help in anyway. Kudos =D
