That's not at all what we're saying. The only reason to upgrade early game items is to change your hit:kill ratio. Assassins are incredibly strong 1v1 early on, and you'll be 100% 1 hitting mobs with average gear anyway. Upgrading gear won't change your hit:kill at all, and you won't get a good return on investment. We're not advising against it because we're trying to make you mad (at least I'm not), we're trying to help you save money.
