One time while trying to finish the first drum bunny quests, when a higher leveled player came in, I asked if they were here to train/hunt, they said that they were.
Then I said that I was too, and that I would appreciate if he could please find another channel.
I've earned a F2, fame, and a free channel :D

there is nothing wrong with "cc plz" it is no longer chatspeak but now a symbol for "i am training and this map is mine so you dont need to stick around"
in maple it is universally understood
the reason for ppl getting mad is when someone comes into THEIR map and goes "cc plz"

besides try telling someone "will you please change channels" in the middle of ur zombie mob

Well, part of it is that most decent people nowadays are polite enough to change channels by themselves. When the person training there says "cc plz," it's not only annoyingly shortened, but very infuriating in that it gives you the idea that the other person thinks they can order you around. Also, if you're simply passing a map without intending to stay and someone says that, it makes you want to KS the living daylights out of that person.

Basically, it doesn't do anything but cause hard feelings. People will change channels of their own accord; there is no need to tell them to do so. The only time I have told someone to change channels (and not in the annoying "cc plz" format) is when they started KSing me, ignoring the fact that I had been there for quite a while.

And now for a funny story.
So, I started an ice/lightning wizard in Bera. I come into ant tunnel 1 and immediately someone says "cc plz." Naturally, I don't. I check the rest of the map, and lo and behold, there are only 3 people in the map: me, the person who told me to "cc," and some other guy. The conversation from there:
Me: dude, you can't take the whole map
Him: i never said i was
Me: "cc plz" means change channels, you can't take the whole channel
Him: why would i say cc plz if i didn't know what it means?
Me: you can't tell me to change channels if you don't have the whole map
Him: i didn't say i had the whole map, i just meant that that was my spot
Me: why don't you just say what you mean then?
Him: dude, everyone but you knows what cc plz means

Rofl. Now "cc plz" has evolved into "this is my spot, i'm too lazy to type that out, so now i just misuse an abbreviation that i don't at all understand."
