So, the question is:
What items did you notice for your magician - low level stuff that you found way after they would be appropriate for you- and would have been of tremendous use if you'd known about them?
Trying to figre out what to look to buy for my 35 cleric. I don't play tons, but I save every meso, so I have about 2.5mil just from grinding. Not much I know, but I would like to know if there's anything I should keep an eye out for that would be nice and durable.

get the best items for ur level. low lvl mage items are cheap anyways.

Bad idea, really. You will get only some extra points for INT/M.ATK and that's it, yet you will have to look for them and buy them, it will take too much time.
From the quests I assume you already have the shoes and the gloves. If you are using the Chaos Robe (lvl33) then skip the Starlight (lvl38) since both give +4INT and wait for the Calas (lvl48). If you want to look better than the average mage buy a Golden Pride, otherwise just the Green Jester from Nemi's lvl28 quest will do, both give +2INT.
Buy the weapon you need from Basil if you want them cheaper, don't worry about scrolling them by now.
Now you're set until lvl50 or so, good luck.
PS: you can buy a Mystic Shield and use it forever or until you decide to change to Esther Shield, both give +1INT. Only difference is 6DEF, wich won't affect your gameplay at all.
Edit: if you aren't using scrolled earrings, scroll your lvl40 earrings (from quest) with 100% scrolls avaible from NPCs.
