next time it goes BSOD write down the error codes and post 'em.
Every time I log on to windows, it lets me sit like an idiot, doing my work for a few minutes and then BSODs me. It is probably porn-related, but I haven't browsed for anything of the sort since I got the computer.
But that's beside the point. Is there anything I can do short of wiping for a new install? Spybot S&D found stuff, but it didn't fix it. And AVG found nothing.
I'm not gonna have to wipe evrathang, am I?
I'd rather not.
P.S. Safe mode works. Safe mode wiff networking works. Normal boot does not.
next time it goes BSOD write down the error codes and post 'em.
Get avast home antivirus and do a full boot time cleanup that did the trick for me.
From expreance spybot and adaware pick up stuff but doesnt clean it. Read wat it ses on BSOD and if that doesnt help then like nartooki sed post the error code.
I had a problem like that...it turned out to be a harddrive with too much in the drive that I used for windows...Eventually it stopped working and I had to clear it...this isn't bad for me though since all of my shyt is on the D: drive while my windows is on the C:...fun stuff...fun stuff....anyhoo I have no advice for you.
I don't know what you guys are talking about, but I like how you are so blunt about how you went on porn XD *Chuckles*
It was not porn, as it turns out. I knew 4chan wouldn't let me down. Anyway, it turns out Microsoft won't support your software after you stole it from them.
My XP is pirated, therefore anytime automatic updates went on it would BSOD.
Ha! Take that, morality. I just had to turn automatic updates off.
... auto updates shouldn't do that, regardless of legitness.
If you're afraid that your parents are gonna find porn on your temporary internat files, get this http://ccleaner.com/
it erases your history and junk on your comp. When I first ran it I got about 300 mb back ._.
Run it about once a day and you'll be fine.
no wait, NEVER MIND
Well the computer is back to normal, after four or five consecutive BSODs as soon as I logged in. And I did turn them off, after that it worked. Well, if it's not because of legitness, then maybe I can fix it... any ideas?
Nartooki, do you still want the numbers? It still BSODs me when I turn updates on, and try to install.
Updates don't recognize genuine Windows. If automatic updates don't work, turn it off and try manually updating it. BTW, it may be better to re-install XP.
