Bowmen: Str before dex?

Since bows generally require lev+5 str to use, I figure most bowmen do the logical thing: put everything into dex until they hit a level where they could use a new bow, then put 5 into str to use it.

Does anyone put 5 into str before being able to use a new bow? Wouldn't it net more HP albeit with a slightly lower damage?

I usually do. I pump everything into dex and every 5 levels, add 5 to str. Also str does not affect how much hp you gain per level

i do something a bit difrent, i put every lvl 4 to dex and 1 to str

I used to put +1 dex and +4 str in every lvl, but I don't now cause my overall provides it's own str, along with other equips. If you want more power early on (well, not that much more power) then only add str during or right before the lvl when you're gonna get a new bow.
