So why cant a hacker just be someone who wants to race to the top, but still has a life and friends? I dont mean to go against legit players, because i have respect for people like auk who get to level 150+ legit, and still have a life, but hackers bot a lot of times right? Then how does that make them not have lives? While their character is botting, i highly doubt they are sitting there watching it the whole time, they are prolly out doing stuff, or at least watching TV or something like that. I dunno, i just think its kinda weird how everyone thinks hackers are what i said above. But dont get me wrong, im sure some hackers are ugly losers with no lives and just wanna cheat. I guess we all just describe evil in the way we see fit.

You could say the same for fencing stolen goods I guess...;)
Just folks who want to earn a lot of money without the trouble of years of education or working up the ranks of legitimate business because they still want to have a life and not waste time with all the work needed that legit workers have to do to succeed financially.....
I'm kidding. But while I see your point to some degree, I 'm sure you can see my point too...
I don't want to be a god. I just want to bring fire to the people.

it should only be permanent bans now. No excuses. You should play by the rules or lose it all. but one problem is ppl just maken ew accounts and hack again. they change their IP address so maple doesn't know. IP's are waht nexon keeps track of. And they change it? they get to hack again. simple and pathetic

Actually they all have hackers. One common factor in all of them is the use of GameGuard. You can bypass it via hacking tools so easily new hackers can even penetrate it. Just picture a common condom. It's permeable and allows little molecules to go in. Now picture the condom torn apart or with larger holes, it's unreliable and you will be likely to get aids =/. GameGuard is the ragged used condom since everyone uses it. It's so commonly used that hacks are bound to be made and used in all those games that uses it. Like I've said in other posts, if Nexon is that rich why can't they switch to another Anti-Hack rather than verbally threatening hackers through posts on their site when they don't bother to read.

It is Wizet's fault the game is full of hackers.

From level 1-30, leveling is sorta decent, you have quite a few quests to do and the KPQ is quite fun for all first timers.

But then? The leveling becomes stupidly slow, and then there is nothing to do on until levels 100+, yet being able to reach those levels is reserved to only a few people who have the PATIENCE to play the game for endless hours a day for months.

Yes, the actual "fun" of the game only starts at Pianus, Papulatus, Zakum and all those high level party quests, so as the GPQ. It's senseless to spend 8+ hours to gain 3 measly skill points that don't do anything significant.

If the game were targeted more to quests and partying instead of the senseless grinding...

But it's a fragile balance between keeping customers and getting new ones. Slow leveling = Keeps current customers hooked, but detracts many. Fast leveling = People quit earlier on, but a lot of people join.

I for one think that hacking HELPS Nexon in a very big way.

does it really matter if people hack? This game is really a single player game, excluding guilds or party quests, its really a one man game with lots of other players. How does hacking personally effect YOU??

hacking doesnt effect you unless a hacker comes into your map and vacs all your monsters or kses you all the time with hacks. of course you can say "HURRR its not fair that we have to play legit and they get away with hacking" and I say "sucks to be you". Dont blame the hacks, blame the hacking prevention system. Hacking MS has devolved recently, with having a handful of vacs, unlike the diverse past. So yeah GameGuard does its job, but its not ahead of the hackers.

Oh and people who hack actually help the game. The hackers are the ones who can CONSTANTLY supply players with goods they may/maynot get ingame. Legit players who hate to grind to find an item, well hacking helps get that item so you can buy it. AND it would be cheaper than a legit item becuase hey, the hacker put no work to it and knows hes going to get a profit anyway so he sells low, making you and him happy.

Personally I hate playing legit right now. I played legit til 30 and I knew I wasnt getting the whole game. Seriously, no one likes being low level. All the high levels get to fight the cool **** and have awesome moves. I want to be that without all the hassle. I dont put money into the game, and geez ITS JUST A GAME. I'd hate to waste my life trying to get to a level, rather than play that level. MS is a fun game for me, but grinding isnt one of those things I enjoy. If you hate the concept of hackers, sorry, that aint gunna change for anything. We do what we do, you do what you do. Something we all gatta live with.

Oh and not all games have hacks. FlyFF doesnt have hacks but it does have macros which mean nothing to me. THere are only a handful of games with actual hacks, so yeah, you're bound to find a hacker if the game is pretty popular. GameGuard is a pretty bad anti-hack system, but its alright becuase it doesnt gain that much money, so they dont have amazing coders to stop hackers. Hell even VAC system on Counterstrike cant stop everything, but its got god damn good coders.

I dont go around saying "HURR LETS HACK" I do it for my personal gain, I'm not advocating hacking. To those who play legit, good job on getting to where you are, cuz Im too damn lazy to do it. And yes people do get banned perma, as my acc has been banned so hey, GMs are doing their job.

One thing i do hate about these noob hackers is that they have no regard for legit players in the sence of where they hack. Ive seen hackers in places where many people walk through. and it gives me a WTF? moment. Even when I hack I find remote places where most people dont train, and if I see someone I CC

You answered that with the first sentence in your next paragraph, not to mention they do NOT help the economy. Granted they do sell higher leveled stuff, but they also just do the first thing that comes to mind. A hacker would sell you a 60% Glove attack for 5m if he found one, and wasn't a merchant hacker.

You also give script kiddies way too much credit in this one. Fairness isn't an issue when it comes to hacking, it's the point of the game. Nothing more. The hackers who hack for levels are completely retarded, the point of the game is to have fun, there's a reason why this is an online game, and not an offline disc game you buy in a store. Also, it isn't the hacks were blaming, it's the lazy script kiddies who can't figure out how to make their own hacks. What always annoyed me when I hacked so long ago (way before I joined hs.) is the dumb****s who always asked "how u get ur hax?" For christ sakes people, if you can't figure it out, then don't do it at all.

This is WHY it destroys the economy. You do that once, and the buyer is going to think "lawls i can buy it for this much and sell it for 10 times more." They also tend to buy stuff at the given price, as I mentioned before. Sure, once or twice wont do anything. But picture this, a jar has 300000 pennies. Every time someone sees it, they are able to take one penny. Now, one penny isn't much, but what if 150000 saw it within the hour, and each came back another time in the same hour? All those pennies gone.

It doesn't work like that. You don't like the grinding? Tough luck, deal with it or gtfo. From you hacking, you automatically violate the ToS, and no longer are supposed to use that account. Oh, and why would you want to be a high level? It doesn't matter, hell I've been playing this game since beta, and haven't got a character past 45. Does that make the game boring? Nope, not at all. Friends are what make the game fun pal, you don't have any? Well quit your *****in'.

Exactly. "...noob hackers is that they have no regard for legit players in the sense of where they hack." This is the exact reason why people hate hackers. They release their CT's and all the noobs have to do is check a box, or find an address. Especially since most of these hackers are 8 year olds snobs, who go off and play their D&D while their hacking. The worst part is, they act as if they own the ****ing game, and are normal players.

this might be a stupid comment, but some of the people i hear say they are too busy to play to level up all day so they must hack...and leveling up like that is wasting time... so i guess hackers think they have a life but don't? seriously, it is just a game.... you can play maple story when you want to, it's not going anywhere when you have other things to do... rather be productive in real life than in a game where it takes you nowhere right?

well probably why there's many more hackers right now in maple story is because there's a few special events. double exp,drops...an opportunity for hackers to get 'rich' quicker.

since they want the items to be cheaper for us to purchase...

no, MS is too easy to hack, in the old beta days all you need is windows accelerator and that's how you get speed hack... too simple, too easy
