double shot vs. arrow blow

ok, im not a bowman expert, my highest bowman is only lvl 20, but there is this question i gota ask.
when i looked most of the guides for bowman, they all masters double shot, not arrow blow but isn't it arrow blow better?
maxed arrow blow:Mp-14 260% dmg
maxed double shot:Mp-16 130%*2 dmg

each time u use double shot, u use 2 more mp, and 1 more arrow.
also since double shot shots twice, the def of the monster is calculated twice.

also, arrow blow is 1 arrow with the dmg of 2 arrows from double shot, that means arrow blow has higher chance of knock back monsters (especially boss)

so why do most ppl add doubleshot?

i think it KBs the monster twice and since critical is 40%, it has a higher chance of getting 200% rather base damage

i don't think kb is the reason, because most monsters that u can kb (except for lvl 1-10 and boss monsters) u can kill in 1-5 shots, b4 the monster can get close to you.
critical dmg is the same overal out of every 5 shots, 2 of them is critical.
meaning arrow blow: 1k,2k,1k,2k,1k (total 7k)
double shot: 500 1k,500 1k, 500 500,1k 500,1k 500, (total 7k)
arrow blow has 60% chance of doing 1k and 40% chance of doing 2k
double shot has 80% chance of doing 1.5k and 20% chance of doing 1k

oh i get it, double shot's dmg is slightly more stable,
but still, just because its more stable its still weaker overall.

A huge misconception is that people think Double Shot outdamages Arrow Blow a lot, truth is it doesn't. You can't say [(260% + 200%) VS (260% + 100%)] because that's the absolute maximum and the odds of hitting the absolute maximum is really really small.

Fact is Double Shot outdamages Arrow Blow a little bit, not a whole 100% like what most people think.

Its all down to personal preference. I prefer Arrow Blow.

Arrow Blow
60% chance of this: 260% (Original Damage) = 260%
40% chance of this: 260% (Original damage) + 200% (Critical Shot) = 460%.

Double Shot
60% chance of this: 130% [1st arrow] + 130% (2nd arrow) = 260%
15% chance of this: (130% [1st arrow] + 200% [critical]) + 130% [2nd arrow] = 460%
15% chance of this: 130% [1st arrow] + (130% [2nd arrow] + 200% [critical]) = 460%
10% chance of this: (130% [1st arrow] + 200% [critical]) + (130% [2nd arrow] + 200% [critical]) = 660%

So you may see, Double Shot is better, but also, with the 2 arrows, there's a chance of one or both hitting really low.

Yes your right, it can be 200% or 100%. About the little bit part, that is most of the time incorrect. It just LOOKS bigger with Arrow Blow because it's 1 whole number instead of 2.

Yes, it may seem I'm contradicting myself, and I probably am, but these are the facts. Overall I believe Double Shot can out damage more of the time.

Also forgot to say, Double Shot may be a little weaker from 2 shots becuase of the monsters defence. But 200% damage more is enough to replace that and do more.

Much of the weaknesses of DS and AB are countered in 2nd job with mastery, soul arrow, and booster.
In general, DS is stronger than AB. However, the player is allowed to choose what to get.
I'm an Arrow Blow archer myself, and I don't really see too much of a difference in damage.
Besides, once (if) you get 3rd job, you switch to strafe.
