I heard about this religion and it's pratices numberous time. This is truly appalling, religious text can allow someone to do something like this easily.
But we really can not do anything about it, it is the patient's right to do what he/she want with their body according to their beliefs. But personally I find it idiotic to give up your life for something so intangible.

on topic: I'm going to have to agree with square on this one. Sure the lady is crazy, but if thats what she believes then we should let her rest in peace. Doctors are those who make a firm stand to save lives, whether they want their life or not, you save it, that's how it goes. Any real doctor cannot stand by while someone dies, whether their reputation stake on it or not.

I'll have to say that doctors will do anything to save a person life, even its risk their reputation or against God's words.
Ugh. Just... ugh.
But on the bright side (why do I always do this?), the kids aren't going to be raised by a mother who adheres so strictly to a bogus, ancient text. But, then again, their father is probably just as religious as their mother was, so I guess they're ****ed either way.
Perhaps their mother's irrationality will "plant the seed of doubt", as they say? Who knows.

Wow, I find that just.. overboard. I know Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door every week to annoy the **** out of me as they talk endlessly on my doorstep about "Why does God allow suffering? Because He's wonderful and perfect and loves us all, and in his love he just wants to kill off a lot of people =)"
But, I found that woman's decision extremely selfish. Sure, getting a blood transplant is a sin, which means you'll go to hell. But to deny your kids (TWINS, I might add) a mother, just so you yourself can go to heaven... she's crazy. Besides, if you go to church/confession, doesn't God pretty much forgive you for everything? O_o
