lots of schools have lockdown, espicially in the city where many kids think that it is funny to take a tire and set it on fire in the girl's bathroom.
Gunmen don't shoot up schools because they want to rob people. Their's no need for guns to punch someone and take their wallet.
Anyway...in my area, there was a fake bomb threat called in by some students. Sure enough, our intelligent board decided that every high school should call an emergency assembly to warn students about making fake calls to the police about schools.
Since then, there have been 30 fake calls in the past 2 weeks. :p

And Buffy staked Edward...The End!
There's one class where we huddle up against a wall with the lights off.Biggest problem? We don't even lock the door(It doesn't lock right),and the windows are as big as Rhode Island. There's a window on the door.We stick out like a sore thumb.
At our school all the doors have windows in them and all the teachers have paper over them. when we do have a lock down we have to lock the door turn of the lights and be quite. one of my old schools we had to huddle togheter but since i went to high school i dont think we have had a lock down. heres a thought if someones gonna shoot up a school and they see all the lights are out on a school day are they gonna think no ones there? even though theres cars in the parkin lot
we had two or three bomb threats a while ago. some guy (i think freshman) he called in the bomb threat while i was off at another school for two of my classes.(i found out after i got back to my normal school) the guy called in the threats using stolen cell phones DURING CLASS and the princable could reconize the teacher in the backround. lol. the after that untill they caught him there was a rule for teachers to follow if u see a cell phone take it and call the office.
This is why my school keeps a gun in a safe in every classroom.
I don't see why everyone here thinks lockdowns are pointless. The point is to get down low out of sight so they don't SEE you. I figured it was pretty dang obvious that ducking under tables isn't going to make it so they can't shoot you. As for locking the doors, it's more common sense. "Guys, an armed hitman has come to kill us all!" "Okay everyone, leave the doors wide open so he doesn't have to do anything except walk right on in." Also, the doors at my school are made of solid steel, a good barrier unless someone can just swing it open to the side. What are you going to do? Just sit there with the doors wide open? Use your brains people....

And that is why I am not going to America for higher learning. Britian sounds nice. China universities are also relatively cheaper and they are extremely welcoming to foreign 'talent'.
Bomb threats, gunmen, shootouts, killing, hostage taking, what else can possibly happen in American schools? Teachers commiting sodomy with kids? No, wait, that already happened.
