Now i found out what happened. The computer jammed, due to a certain SOMEONE, that i know who, placing a wrapped up magnetic paperweight, NEXT TO THE GODDAMNED COMPUTER.
Look, the computer there, has all my files, except games.
If there is games, that's in my dad's account. Mostly all you can find there is guides that i compile, my own fanfics, custom sprites, music, etc.
Gimme a second. Im going to estimate how much i lost.
Oh, and apparently my dad had backups. But didnt bother to add any of the other account's backups. He kept saying : I did back your files up.
Bullsh*t. 113 GB, thats about the entire Local C. 100GBs worth of free space.
I had only around50-60GBs left last time. So my at LEAST 2GBs can be at least 40GBs.

Its so infuriating. He also did this about... 8 months ago. And dont start, im not done. MY computer, which was once HIS, has been reformatted so many times, and we have no windows 'equipment' for it. No word, no text, no powerpoint, no NOTHING. So its worthless for work, and the thing lags on internet, games, whatever. Sometimes, it doesnt even fricking work at all!

Backups? Oh, yeah, fine. As i mentioned above, he said he had backups for the system.
And he says that his Windows Live 'antivirus' worked fine. Bullsh*t. Within 2 months of buying, i used AVG. Immediately, virus alarms blared.

You shouldn't be whining about this certain computer being reformatted, it's probably god's way of telling you to get a new one via your dad.

This doesnt make sense at all from a techie point of view.
First of all, if your computer did crash BECAUSE of the magnet, then that means you completely destroyed your hard disk. So unless you replaced the hard disk drive with a new one, then your computer shouldn't even work (except for the BIOS screen).
So basically, the magnet had nothing to do with it, since now the computer appears to work fine.

Anyway, if you're complaining about not being able to buy flash drives or cd's/dvd's to burn on (or external hd's, whatever), then perhaps you should use the internet to back up your files?

I just burn not-so-important files and upload more important ones to Gmail (as well as burning them).

Yeah, that magnet must have screwed up something, at least. I just tested it on a table leg *Metal, yes.* and it took abit of trouble to get it off. Worse, i cant find a name on it, so i cant kill the sender.

Try FileScavenger, it will look for files that have been deleted/formatted on your hard drive. It will be able to recover them as long as the sectors they were in haven't been already used.

I've been backing up my system today too. I have burnt 12 Dvds right now, that's something around 54 gigabytes.

My free space went from 15GB to a current 168GB.
