But what about the price? :(
Yeah, it might not be as fast, but some people put the DX10.1 compatibility as a huge plus for it.
I have a EVGA 8800GTS 640MB that I overclocked myself :). Not to mention my E6600 running at 3GHz and my cheapo G.Skill 2GB RAM I have set to 4-4-4-12-t2
edit:
As for the site you provided on the benchmarking, the scores are marginally different in some of the benchmarks. Some of the games the 8800GT outperforms greatly, but you need to recognize that they were using G92 Drivers (8800GT) with the 9600 (A G94 Card). I'd say with a new driver for the G94 the difference in FPS' will be slim to none.
A buddy of mine that works at a retail center for electronics got his 9600GT for $150 USD, though it sells for $250 when it's released I believe. Soon as the 9800 comes out, expect the price to drop to $200 USD.
He already has it and running, he kinda snuck it out of the back of storage and rang it up himself a few days before they're supposed to be on sale.
Yeah, a few sites such as the OCForums have some pictures of people who also sneaked theirs out.
As you can see, only you and me have been talking about videocards. :p
I thought about making a "Post your gaming rig" thread, but I think we'd get 4 replies with actual content, and the rest would be "I don't have one"
Card I bought:
I need some heatsinks too.
This is my current mid-range rig: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...itro/ene08.jpg
That fan down there was the solution to my computer starting to randomly lock up at bootup only, the Northbridge was getting too hot, however it would only freeze at a certain temperature, if it went higher than that then it would stabilize. Weird. I'm getting a heatsink+fan later for the NB.
