What was you first serious game?
Sure I played Super Mario and Madden 97 on my brother's SNES, but I have to say my first serious game was Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. It's influenced me ever since because I play fps's alot now :)
So what was your first serious game?

Crimson Balrog
hmm...I would have to say Grand Theft Auto: Vice City or Socom 2: US Navy Seals, because since they are exlusive to SCEA, since then I only buy Sony platforms, like PS1, PS2 and soon to be PS3.

My first serious game must have been GATO for my Atari XE65.
It was a Submarine simulator.

Yeah, me being Mexican I always thought of that too. Add to the fact that the game art on the box was a Panther.
GATO is an acronym, I'll look it up.
Holy crap, I didn't remember that in hard mode, the mission briefings were morse code signals. YOU HAD TO WRITE IT DOWN YOURSELF!
Man, games were SERIOUS BUSINESS back in those days.
EDIT: Whoops! GATO is not an acronym, but a designation given to diesel submarines in the 1940's.

I just learned something new today :)

Super Mario World. I played several before that, but I barely understood what the hell I was supposed to do.
