    Default Norton. Wha?

Ok so, I booted up my PC today and Norton does the big flashy 'your subscription dies in 29 days UPDATE NOW' thingy.

So I clicked. And it took me to the Norton site, and what do you know, I have to buy the Norton upgrade.

Now, Norton has caused me no end of trouble anyways. So when the subscription expires, what shall I do? I refuse to pay for the upgrade. Can anyone recommend another FREE virus software that I can download that won't freak out with MS (Norton does, frequently) and lets me update FREE.

    Key word here is FREE.

Yes yes yes, AVG is amazing.
My comp came with a trial of a aintivirus that I believe was McAffe. Immediately uninstalled that crap and put AVG on.

    It's a virus.

Kidding :D It's part of Norton scanning your computer I think it usually ends up hogging your computers resources whilst doing so. I've been googling everywhere of a way of terminating it but haven't found anyone that knows how to.

Right, Norton is totally dying at the end of my subscription.

    Bye bye Norton, hello AVG.

Nothing is free on teh internets. As long as it says "FREE" or "CONGRATULATIONS", it's a scam.

None of this "1337" stuff, it's just "ronin"

I've been told by many people that AVG is a good free antivirus so you won't be doing wrong in installing that and getting rid of Norton. I'll be doing the same once my subscription expires too :D
