Old news. Georgia is going to regret this one.
You can read about it at any news site.
It seems that South Ossetia, an independent region, was bombed by Georgia, killing 1500 people - mostly civilians. Georgia was attempting to re-establish rule over the region. Russia came rolling in to the capital, Tskhinvali, and killed a few hundred of theirs. Russia has also bombed a few Georgian military bases.
South Ossetia and Abkhazia broke away from Georgia in the early 90's and have close ties with Russia. The US is in a difficult position, because we trained the Georgian military. If you read an article, you'll find a few names but this is the short and sweet gist of it. Of course, the US and Europe are yammering at them to stop.

Oh my yes. Old news from yesterday. Tsk tsk@me.
Here, then:
And it may not be a "just let them fight it out" situation. Russia's already blaming us for training Georgians and this could spread throughout the region.
Yea, but Russia ain't gonna start a war where neither sides will get anything out of it. We are safe as long as we don't get involved in any other way.
So much for the Olympic truce >.>

Russia sucks. Those noobs need to learn English before I go in there and teach them by force!
US RUELS!!!!!!!!
Spoiler!
Gone with the wind
I blame Russia mostly.
They've been bombing civilian Neighborhoods and ports. Which is unnecessary. I believe Russia is only at war with Georgia and supporting the Ossetian separatists just to have more land, or at least have control over the government.
