Directions to Crimsonwood Mountain.
Crimsonwood is a pain to navigate. Here is my picture guide on how to get through to Crimsonwood Mountain from the Haunted Mansion.
Note: I'm standing in the portals that need to be taken in order to advance.
Starting from the Haunted Mansion, go all the way to the right.

Next climb the tree and take the portal on the top left.

You will find yourself in the Bandit camp, take the right portal.

Go to the furthest portal on the right.

Now go to the second furthest portal to the left.

Take the portal on the left.

Finally go to the portal at the top left.

Congratulations! You've made it to the spinning pillar of death!

When you get hit you die, lose 1%, and are sent back to the Haunted Mansion.

What exactly does the spinning death of pillars do, and how does it do what it does? How do you get around it? Should I ask more questions?
