    Default Never too soon: Pirate Builds

    Ok so Pirates are coming our in a couple weeks and I'm glad h-s made this section because I am dieing to discuss things about pirates that are more technical than "OMG PIRATES YAY!!!" I mean there's nothing wrong with that, I'm really excited, but I don't want to mess up my first pirate. I tried to look for guides on pirates because I figured they would have been out from china or wherever pirates are already out, but my search was pretty fruitless.

    Anyways, here is what I have so far:
    Standard Pirate build needs 20 (or is it 25?) DEX to get the job advancement, you want to keep the equal to your level and the rest should be strength.
    This makes sense with brawlers but I'm not sure about gunslingers, confirmation anyone?

    I'm planning on making a brawler so I'm thinking its going to look something like this.

    [1rst job]-pirate [to be brawler]
    Straight [+1]
    Somersault Kick [+1]
    Dash [+1]
    Max Straight [+19]
    Max Somersault Kick [+19]
    Max Quick Motion [+20]

    [2nd job]-brawler
    ???-I have no idea how the skills work, I've seen videos and some skills have charge times...some have different ranges. And then there is also MaxHP Increase, which would help a lot and its only max level 10 so it would be easy to get out of the way, but from what I've heard brawlers have a lot of HP to begin with so this might not be necessary.

    [1rst job]-pirate [to be gunslinger]
    Max Double Barrel Shot [+20]
    Max Quick Motion [+20]
    Max Dash [+10]
    then you have 11 points that go to waste? I don't understand why a gunslinger would need straight or somersault kick...does anyone have any clues?

    As you can see, I am pretty clueless about pirates, please tell me if any of my information is wrong, and definitely add any input that will help me put together a solid build before I make the character :P

    I found that the best guide for gunslingers is the one suggested by shrapnel (kaoano or SW):
    Spoiler!

    As for infighter, ayumilove's blog site has a ton of good builds and other useful info:

    I think its like this:
    Brawlers: DEX=Level + 5
    Gunslingers: STR=Level

    I'm maxing Dash and not Straight because in second job, Infghters get 3 new attacking skills, making Straight only useful for a few levels whereas Dash is effective for a long time. Also, Infighters basic attack is pretty good anyway. Although I would max Quick Motion before Somersault Kick.

    It's just like crossbowmen, in a sense.

    Gunslingers
    STR = your level

    Infighters (brawlers)
    DEx = your level

    Here are a few guides I found a while ago.

    http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleSt...e_Guide/Builds

    I too am considering maxing dash instead of straight. dash seems more useful in the long run.

    Goals: 45 [X] 50 [X] 60 [X] Crusader [ ] Solo Mushmom [ ] Solo Zombie Mushmom [ ] Solo Mushdad [ ] Make new sets of goals [ ]

    According to her:
    Infighter
    Infighter DEX (dexterity) stats is equivalent to its level + 5. Example: Infighter Level 18 has 23 DEX
    DEX = LVL + 5
    STR = All other SP

    The guid ElderDragon has found is the best Gunslinger build there is.

    And by the way, Infighter shouldn't be DEX=Level but level +5.

    But anyway, for Infighters, you should stick to mastering Straight because it hits real hard during 1st job. With the right equips, an Infighter can hit just as high as normal Luk sins and magicians as well. Also, to make 2nd Job, you require Straight. All other moves are misses.

    This is the build I would recommend for Infighters:

    1st Job:

    Lv. 10- 1 Straight
    Lv. 11- 3 Quick Motion
    Lv. 12- 3 Quick Motion
    Lv. 13- 3 Quick Motion
    Lv. 14- 3 Quick Motion
    Lv. 15- 3 Quick Motion
    Lv. 16- 3 Quick Motion
    Lv. 17- 2 Quick Motion (MAX) and 1 Straight
    Lv. 18- 3 Straight
    Lv. 19- 3 Straight
    Lv. 20- 3 Straight
    Lv. 21- 3 Straight
    Lv. 22- 3 Straight
    Lv. 23- 3 Straight (MAX)
    Lv. 24- 3 Somersault Kick
    Lv. 25- 3 Somersault Kick
    Lv. 26- 3 Somersault Kick
    Lv. 27- 3 Somersault Kick
    Lv. 28- 3 Somersault Kick
    Lv. 29- 3 Somersault Kick
    Lv. 30- 2 Somersault Kick (MAX) and 1 Dash

    Results:
    Quick Motion MAX
    Straight MAX
    Somersault Kick MAX
    Dash 1

    I recommend this build because firstly, Quick Motion adds a bonus of 20 Accuracy, and Straight hits 270% on a monster, which is extremely good for 1st job. Somersault Kick should also be mastered because it is a great mobbing skill and has surprisingly good range. Dash is left at one and will be mastered or left alone in 2nd Job.

    Haven't really gotten a good build for 2nd Job though..

    Dash gets annoying, as it activates if you double tap the 2 directional keys, and you don't stop automatically with it.
    Spoiler!

    You are the best~~
