Add $100 for the Q8200 Quad if you so decide to switch to that! Tell me what you liked/disliked! More HDD space? Less RAM? No integrated video and add a dedicated one? I can cater to your needs and adjust to a price!

Gone with the wind
Haha I thought so, ok add $15 or whatever those historical pieces of hardware cost.
My $477.95 subtotal list is still up on Newegg.
Quad-core, 4GB RAM, 500GB storage, microATX form factor.
I came into the thread because the topic title was rather interesting.

By our powers combined, we give you CAPTAIN PARTS!!
Added the optical drive, and for the same price it's a motherboard with a much nicer integrated graphics card.
Captain Parts again!
There is a burner already, so I didn't add it.
RAM gets pretty hot, and a small set up doesn't help. That is why I added RAM with heat spreaders.
There is a FOXCONN motherboard with G45 chipset for ~$20 lower than other motherboards. Still has HDMI onboard graphics.
RAM heatsinks are mostly a gimmick, no reason to need some when you're running 800mhz @ 1.8V and are not going to do any type of overclocking.
Where is the burner you mentioned though?
And HDMI is just a port, Intel Chipsets still don't have good onboard graphics.
In my experience, RAM heatsinks do a great deal. I run at 800MHz with 1.8V, and the difference in temperature is vast.
Intel chipsets are good enough to run games like MS. For ~$20 less, it's a good compromise. Since the loss in performance does not make the computer inadequate.
If heatsinks were really necessary, all RAM would include it. Just because it's really hot to touch, doesn't mean it's overheating! And if you touch a heatsink, and it's cool, it could just mean that heat isn't transferring at all to the heatsink ;)
