    Default Shrinking partition, vista

    [SOLVED]

I'm currently trying to shrink my vista partition by about 30gbs to install ubuntu on.

At first, it only allowed me to shrink 84mbs, after cleaning up my computer, disabling page filing and defragging for "Free space" (PerfectDisk 10), it's gone up to 4589mbs.

What else could I do to free up more space?

Note: I've read that I could shrink my partition using other programs, such as GParted, but from what I gather, there is a small chance that my Vista OS will refuse to boot (I don't have the CD's, only a ghost image, so I can't fix the boot stuff).

Edit: Just ran a defrag on boot, fixed all the unmoveable crap it couldn't move while windows was running.
