Recently, I got diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and told to take fiber every day. I noticed a decent improvement, but nothing wonderful.
But just this week, I went on a cruise and I forgot to bring my fiber with me. Somewhere between the different diet and meal schedule and possibly getting a stomach bug, I was in the bathroom, lightheaded, with searing spasms in my abdomen. I was lucky that I'd gone to the doctor and got a prescription for spasm, because that's the only thing that made me able to go on my $70 prepaid tour...
Anyway, point is that you never know when it might get more serious. So you should get it checked out as soon as you can.
Especially if you train cross-country and can't sprint for more than 5 seconds... That could be a big problem.
