Default Overall are knights of cygnus chars good from the start and later on?

    Hello.

I'm wondering if I should make a KOC character but I hear from people that its not worth it becase all KOC chars do horrible later on in the game.

Is this true? It seems like they are pretty strong.

they dont do horrible. you just cant level them past 120. but for the most part, they are stronger by far than their counterparts until the level cap, then eventually, non koc take over again.

Yes. They are great. My Thunder Breaker is level 30 now and not only is he awesome fun, his power is like nothing I've seen before. If you don't think you'd go above level 120 anyway, then Cygnus Knights are probably for you. With strong will and skill you MIGHT be able to go to Horntail but I don't know. Maybe not. Never tried.
Also since they get 6 AP points until level 70, I heard they are as powerful as a level 135 adventurer.

It's a really fast class to level due to the OP-ness of them.

Depending on the KoC class, you have as much power as a comparable 13x-15x adventurer at 120. And of course you're quite overpowered vs. the adventurer until 120.

However, you only get 2 4th job skills, which is pretty limiting when you did all that work to get to 120. (I'm finding out that 4th job is more than just a few skills; I thought I'd be fine with Gen and MW, but I'm now very glad to have max AR, and looking forward to maxing Res and Holy Shield as well.) On the bright side, you get the 4th job skills early, at level 100 and 110.

Also, due to the level cap, you get a damage reduction on Zakum, and might have accuracy issues (especially dexless/very low dex Dawn Warriors) because you need more accuracy than an adventurer, who can just level to the same level as the boss.

To directly answer your question: It depends on what you define as "later in the game". If you just want to Pap and Zakum with friends, and give your friends Echo, you'll do fine, though you won't be a top-tier char in most groups. If you want to HT or PB, or to be very strong in endgame bossing, or to 1hko Skeles, make an adventurer. Also, KoCs are geared more for power than for party skills, so if you like to help the whole party out, keep that in mind as well.

Also a note that the 4th job skills for KoC aren't as powerful as thier adventurer counterparts.

Okay, but then the Cygnus would overpower all adventurer classes. If you include all 4th job skills maxed out for Cygnus, and allow them to do everything an adventurer would, then what's the point?

Every Cygnus will have a 70 stat boost over their Adventurer counterpart. With MW19, this comes to a 77 stat boost. That is MASSIVE. This puts you at 83 AP over the max AP (999). So the cygnus would be able to keep their secondary stat very high. It's just not going to happen.
    Think before you wish.

You could just cap AP at 999, period, and have them reach it earlier, then just spend 83 on something else. C'mon, Horntail FTW, you know u want it...
