Forum upgrade imminent - some short downtime expected

We are planning to upgrade our forum software to its latest version of vBulletin 4 within the next few days. Expect new improved changes, and possibly template changes too, as we work to iron out all sorts of kinks.

As with any major upgrade to forum software, old modifications we've made may not work, but we'll try our best to salvage whatever we can. The improvements would be more than worth the few sacrifices we have to trim along the way.

Most notably, the current MGC Chatbox will have to be replaced with another compatible chatbox, as the old chatbox does not support the new major version of the forum.

Edit: We will also be removing our market boards as they are severely underutilised. We prefer to concentrate our effort and resources on something else that the rest of the community actually uses instead.

They won't be going anywhere. You couldn't throw away 4 years of posting away so easily.

What Rook said. Worse comes to worst, if the upgrade fails for whatever reason (hopefully not), we'll just revert back to the old version. But all topics and posts would still exist.

Previous themes won't work I'm afraid. We may have to use the default skin for a while till we find a suitable alternative dark theme.
