So I've decided to devote some time to do a quick run-through of how to set up the server. I did it using Hamachi.


Hosting
1. Download Hamachi here.

As if YouTube doesn't already have over 40 videos of the exact same steps. On another note, would my brother (Who uses MinecraftSP) be able to join? He doesn't have the official version. By join, I mean if I hosted a server via your setup.

And I would buy the game if I had the means to, but I unfortunately don't. So until I can buy it, I need to put up with this.

Thanks for the help on setting up a server Blank, but is this only for non-legit servers?

I need help setting up a server for three people max and for legit accounts. I sort of already know how, but the only problem I have is with the porting and the Static IP Address.

I'm quite sure you need the Minecraft_Server still. Just use your own IP Address instead, and the port should be given in the Minecraft_Server.

Don't quite know if Blankae already answered this (I couldn't tell where he was coming from, sorry Blank), but you don't need the official version of Minecraft to join or host a server. I managed it 4 times before buying the game (1 Hosted, 3 joined). The odd thing is that I could only connect to the servers ONCE (Not sure if that was just me though) and everyone looked like me.

We can finally place stairs upside down! I'm super excited to sit down and play through a new world all night; haven't had much time to play earlier. Zombie raids and the new height limit are awesome too.

Haven't played minecraft since endermen.. I'm not really big on hamachi, but meh, I'll watch this thread and see what goes down.
