if you live near jersey you should go to rutgers if it is not too expensive.
Nothing that I do can be accepted as a hobby by most people(Internet, vidya games, etc). Same stuff as rasudoken. I just don't want to do something too boring, or anything too tedious.
    Spoiler!

Rutgers Shmutgers. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

I'm into video games, anime, etc. and thought I'd like science. After taking AP chem and calc, I'm going with teaching. Life is funny. At any rate, many, many people don't even know what they want to do when they get to college. Tons of people change their majors multiple times too, so right now rasu should just worry about looking for interesting colleges to apply to.

@F50, instate from Berkeley is $13k, that is about right.

I like Berkeley mainly because they have the fastest internet in the US and they have their own particle accelerator.

as for private, matters where you want to go.

@san-lzu maybe something along the lines of chemistry or physics. it is hands on and you can blow anything up. (lol story time. My dad knew a chemist when he was young in Germany. So they bought a KG of Sodium and threw it in a bucket of water then ran like hell.)

If only Berkeley had an aero/astronautical engineering program

Total cost is $30k for most students...$13k is just for tuition and stuff, not including dorming, etc.

true true, but still cheeper then Out of state: $35k base tuition.

I don't know where he lives.. You could probably make do with a daily commute to Berkeley ( if you were a student there (are you?)).

What types of jobs could I get with a degree in physics? Because TBH I want to be able to get a job soon after college to pay off debts.

physics is just a broad spectrum of many, many jobs. Electrophysics- working with electricity and whatnot, Astrophysics, aerophysics, etc.

Materials sciences perhaps? it is an engineering field and what you do is basically create new materials. Silly Putty was an accident

Like I said, private college have a higher chance of offering more financial aid than the government, so it is possible for private colleges to be cheaper than in-state public colleges. Especially if you go to a college in which you are a minority or your major is a minority (such as English majoy at MIT, etc.).

You could make commute there, but living there is way easier, becasue commute time adds up. I am actually going to UC Davis for Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
