We cubed one of our egged HTPs multiple dozen times. Still Rare.
I found hidden potential Pink Goldwind shoes and magnified them. Unique.
Most of my other stuff gets to Epic and gets stuck there forever. These people that have 4+ unique items already are spending a TON of Nx cubing.

clarify: if it's rare, and you miracle cube it, it can come out unique. if it's unique and you miracle cube it, can it come out rare?

no it doesnt go backwards as far as i know.
Once you're at epic it can only go Unique or stay epic. It'll never drop back down to rare

On another note, I haven't actually seen or heard anything about it but, say a potential item starts with 2 bonus stats. Can the cube change that number (reduce it to 1 or raise it to 3 stats)?

Pretty sure, my bow started out with "ignore % of magic/phys damage" once i cubed it, it said "5% chance to stun" and an added +50 MP
