    The Guide to Night Walkers

    Introduction

Hi, I'm CaiStiify (IGN: Sinsanity) and I was looking for a good Night Walker guide, turns out there are none. So, I decided to make one myself to help people with the same problem out. This is my first guide, so please bear with me.
Note that I do not care if this is copied, as it is there to help people, but if you give me some credit that's nice :)

    Getting Started

Okay, so you've downloaded Maplestory and hopefully have created an account, now just login and select your server. After you've done that, click on "Create a character" and choose Cygnus Knights, then think up a good username. Click "select a character" to play.

Okay so you start with a Level 1 Noblesse, which you'll hopefully train to lvl 120 (yes, it's hard I know), and you start off in the tutorial maps, which, if this is your first time playing, you should take a look at. You get a few quests, and if you complete them, you should be level 10, the exact level needed for the first job advancement. (which should be night walker.

    1st job advancement

Okay, this is easy as pie, really. Just talk to Ickhart and accept his quest. talk to him again and you're a Night Walker.

    .:Night Walker AP Allocation:.

Okay, there are three main types of Night Walkers:
Dexless Night Walkers, who leave their DEX at 25, and pump everything into LUK. Why? because the Night Walker's main attacking skill (until level 100) is Lucky Seven, which deals damage based on LUK, so they deal more damage.

    Pros of Dexless NW's:
    - High Damage if funded properly
    - don't spend too much on equips, since they don't have to buy new claws all the time.
    - It's cool to see high dmg early on.

    Cons of Dexless NW's
    - They use the same claw for a long time, so your character might look boring at lvl 7x
    - Low weapon ( and magic) defence, seeing as they use sauna or bathrobes.
    - At lvl 100 they weaken IMMENSELY seeing as they have a skill called triple throw, which has a regular dmg formula.
    - Outdamaged by properly funded Low-DEX NW's

Then we have Low-DEX NW's, which keep their DEX low enough to just get the equipment they need, while keeping LUK as high as possible.

    Pros of Low-Dex NW's:
    - If funded properly, outdamage ALL other types of NW's with ease.
    - Doesn't get boring since your outfit changes a few times.

    Cons:
    - EXPENSIVE. no kidding.

and we got the Regular NW's. their DEX is Level x2.

    Pros of regular DEX:
-It's a lot harder to screw up your stats
-Cheap. (unless you buy equips everytime you are able to equip new equips.)

    Cons:
    - Lower dmg compared to the other kinds of NW's

Choose one I guess, it doesn't matter all that much in my opinion (at least not in my guide)
NOTE: I do not say any kind of NW is worse the another, I saw a Regular Dex NW in cpq who solo'ed (yes, Solo'ed) about 1500cp. (!)

    .:1st Job Skillbuild

    Okay here we go:

    10: 1 Lucky Seven
    11: 3 Nimble Body
    12: 3 keen Eyes
    13: 3 Keen Eyes
    14: 2 Keen Eyes (MAX)
    15: 3 Lucky Seven
    16: 3 Lucky Seven
    17: 3 Lucky Seven
    18: 3 Lucky Seven
    19: 3 Lucky Seven
    20: 3 Lucky Seven
    21: 1 Lucky Seven (MAX)
    22: 3 Nimble Body
    23: 3 Nimble Body
    24: 1 Nimble Body (MAX) 2 Disorder
    25: 1 Disorder 1 Darkness 1 Dark Sight
    26: 3 Dark Sight
    27: 3 Dark Sight
    28: 3 Dark Sight (MAX)
    29: 3 Darkness
    30: 3 Darkness

    You end up with:
    MAX Lucky Seven
    MAX Keen Eyes
    MAX Nimble Body
    MAX Dark Sight
    3 Disorder
    7 Darkness

    Why this build?
Well, first, one point in Lucky Seven (L7) to speed up training. then we add a few points in Nimble Body to unlock Keen Eyes. MAX keen eyes, to gain extra range, which speeds up training in a way. next is maxing L7 for higher dmg. Then nimble body for the avoid (seeing as your accuracy is second only to bowmen) next add Darksight for AFKing and finish up with Darkness

Why did you add a point to Darkness at 25?
well, lvl 2 Dark Sight does not help your DPM a lot, and Darkness does IMO

    .:Training Spots:.

alright this will be where you can check where to train etc etc.
Note that you CAN train at the listed spots earlier if you have money or are feeling confident about your dmg.

    10~13
    Quests on Erev

    13~20
    - Octopi at Caution: Falling Down
stand on the yellow things and snipe the octopi (beware that a bubbling might spawn on you)
    - Cygnus Knight Quests

    20~25

    - Zombie Mushrooms at ant tunnel I

    25~30
    - Wild Boars at Land of the wild boar 2
    - Scorpions at Ariant

    .:Stars:.

As you might have noticed (and if not, shame on you), a night walker throws Throwing Stars and Throwing Knives. The weakest stars are Subi, and the best are Balanced Fury.

Point is, throwing stars are expensive. In Ems (which I play) Ilbi is 12 mil.
So, you might want to know when you need to buy what.

okay, before I buy any stars I check the following:
1: After I buy the set, I'll have at least half the mesos I had before I bought them.
2: If I buy it, I won't have a huge gap between that set and the others ( 1 Steely and 7 Subi for example)
3: (optional) say you have 6 tobi and 2 mokbi, and you have 10m, steelies are 2,5m ea. you might say, oh I'm gonna buy the steelies and sell mokbi, but no, if you buy tobi, your damage won't fluctuate.

    .:Second Job:.
Congratulations! lvl 30! At lvl 30 you get some flashy new skills like Flash Jump and Vampire. (note that I am not a lvl 120 NW. so I make this guide with only the things I heard from people who are higher lvled.)

This is a must have for this class. My other character would go along perfectly with this build.
