Actually the proper day for the "Sabbath" would be Saturday, which is why you see a lot of Jewish people walking around in dark clothing on Saturdays, not riding cars (considered a form of work).
Christians moved their "holy day" to Sunday.

I'm pretty sure that most Western denominations don't do Saturday mass. I think that's mostly a Catholic thing. I could be mistaken though.
