1. Download the Manual Patch here
2. WAIT! Do not proceed until the Big Bang update begins and the game servers are down.
3. Copy the Manual Patch files into your MapleStory folder, typically C:\Nexon\MapleStory
4. Once the Big Bang update completes and the game servers are back up...play Big Bang!

Please note if you copy the manual patch files into your MapleStory folder before the Big Bang update begins, you will not be able to start the game. Once the files are copied, MapleStory will only start after the Big Bang update is complete.

Typical vague nexon wording. It makes it sound like if you load it early, you'll be cursed forever. I think though what they were trying to say (but failed miserably) was that there won't be a whole file until after they start the process.

One of the main features of Big Bang is an improved experience curve. With anywhere from 2 to 5 times faster, 2x EXP coupons are no longer an essential part of the leveling experience and so we will remove the coupons from the Cash Shop with Big Bang.

Maplers who still have 2x EXP coupons in their inventory will be refunded the remaining time with Maple Points. 2x Drop coupons are not affected by this change.

2x EXP were never an ESSENTIAL part (except for real noobs who stood to lose more times than they gained, or mebbe people who had to seriously grind due to upper levels). People got them so it would take them half the time. That's kinda patronizing of you, Nexon. Let people spend on what they want, whether or not it's "essential." Essential means something you cannot not have and still be. Like water, food, air, and love. They did a test, and found love was an essential. People grown in test tubes, and raised in a sterile scientific environment who were never loved were found to be otherwise healthy, but slowly sickened and died.
2x? Never the case.

And yes, that probably wins award for strangest paragraph.

I won't be missing 2x. No more do I have to go on maple in the middle of a 2x even to find that everything is lagging and the server is crammed full of people.

Yeah, scheduled 2x sux completely, but being able to suddenly boost your experience with items is a tremendous break.
