I actually kinda agree with him (in the general sense of it). You can have serious discussions; and I do think they should be supported. Drama online is another thing entirely. Look at the whole debacle with the Kong forums recently. When both sides (HS and Kong) were just joking around, the drama/flaming was kept to a minimum and both parties seemed to get along. The discussion wasn't entirely "silly" either. Throw in some over-dramatic posts, and a bunch of trolling/spam starts. Sometimes you really do have to realize this IS an online gaming forum. Not everything is going to (or needs to) stay on topic, and not everything posted is serious.

We can have serious discussions, but there comes a point when it's best to just sit back and let stuff go. It's just something you'll have to learn eventually. Not everything in life is going to have intricate back story and drama. Knowing when to hang back and remain calm is extremely important to enjoying your experience (both online and in "real life"). I know you guys got over the issues before, but the PMs he sent you really aren't insulting, flaming, inciting, or hateful. It's even better because it WAS kept private.

To sum it up:
Kag, I don't think you should necessarily change your entire view on internet communities, but it's important that you understand serious drama=flames.
