    Default The book thread

    inspired by a ****ty post about how bad a particular book is, I figured I'd start a thread about praising good books.

    I'm currently reading A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. It's pretty good. I saw the first season of the tv show inspired by it on HBO, and really enjoyed that, so I started to read the books. They're even better than the tv series, and I didn't think that was possible, seeing how good the series was. I'm really enjoying it and the little details about the characters and settings are really crucial to understanding the story in my opinion.

    So, HS, what are you reading, or what have you read, that is worth sharing?

    eh, reading The Inferno and Metamorphoses for my IB World Lit. summer assignments
    Inferno is great, but Metamorphoses is absolutely horrible
    Worst part is having to write comparative essays on two goddamn book-sized poems

    Just finished High Fidelity by Nick Hornby. It was good.

    About to read American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. It should be good.

    My favorite book so far is One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich.
