    Icon11 The Impromptu Poetry Thread

And now we run and tumble and fall
On the rim of a tome swept under our feet
By Time: collapsed in the folds as dust
as grey ages flip and fall
    By Life: swept carelessly away
where a second in light is a redeeming darkness
By Fate: led to an end
at the edge where the blind go to see
By Men: held to each passing page
melted in place by blood so deep
By God: Inspired to balance with grace
waiting for an end at the turn of a page
Who then will turn the page for you
And what end will your last page be?

Around us the tome is closed
    the story unfolded
    the tale is done
    released by the one
    who reads our story.

She is like a warm shower
    on a tasteless, cold morning.
    Fingers of warmth enveloping me,
bathing me in blazing paths of radiance.
Caressing my ears with the soft sound of rain,
quickening my heart and boiling my blood,
piercing my limbs like needles of warm, rich sun,
consuming me in cleansing, soothing fire.
Only to leave me wrinkled, wet, and cold.

This has been here since September but I didn't notice.
Now that I know I think I'll post this.
An impromptu poem of the best kind!
(This is just a filler line)
I need a topic to write this poem about.
The weather? Or maybe how I hate sauerkraut?
I guess I’ll just stick to what I know.
    Refrigerator.

    I don't like writing.
    I don't like poetry.
    Therefore
    I draw pictures instead.
A picture is worth a kiloword.
