(This is a good site for looking words up, it has the romaji, and you can click on stuff to get the kanji or katakana)

Thomas means "twin" and Hooker is likely a profession name having less to do with prostitution than having to do with either fishing or hooking together things as in stitching. So the best equivalent of my name is...

爪双子. It's written as Tsume Futago (but pronounced as above).
If that's how you want your name spelt, then I've nothing to add, apart from the fact that that's not how you write Thomas Hooker in kana. But as for the Kanji, Kanji for foreign names is based on readings, not meaning. "Tsume Futago" can't be read as "Thomas Hooker". Quickly grabbing my name because it's easier:
Hayden > ヘイデン (Heiden) > Hei + Den > (Kanji for Hei) + (Kanji for Den)
So theoretically, my name could be written using the kanji 兵電. I've no idea what they mean, though, I just used IME and know they can be read as Hei and Den, even if those aren't the main readings.

Of course, this mainly applies to foreigners' names. People who want to give themselves Kanji for some reason. Most Japanese people's given names are given from their parents like anybody else, and just happen to often contain Kanji, and therefore their names have a (less obscure) meaning compared to English names.

As a side note, Futago means twins as in twin children, and it can't mean two of an object.

    Doin' some Kanji-dictionary stuff.
    Den in Denki is electricity.
Hei is a rank in the military, apparently.
Looks like I am an electric soldier.

chinese is very difficult, because for each word, you have to memorize a different character. there's no set alphabet (what i heard).

languages are harder to pick up the older you get. the learning period is about up to age 12/13, as of now you will probably retain a noticeable english accent when speaking an asian language. also pronounciation is p hard, lots of words almost sound the same

    hehehe

If you learned from a Taiwanese place, you'd learn the bopomofo method, which is extremely helpful.
