Thread: I can always rely on Maple Story for homework help.

  1. #1

    Default I can always rely on Maple Story for homework help.

    Or at least 2/3 of the people that help.

    It's OK to ask for help in the FM, right? ._.

    I only have 15mil now because I spent it on tutoring. ><

    Sorry, Donny!
    Heheh.

    P.S.:
    That's just projectile motion!
    Constant speed on the x-axis and straight down (g only) on the y-axis!

    The guy was wrong, by the way.
    Here's the correct solution, I think:

    "X = VT" is simply "distance = velocity x time"

    Y = V1T + 1/2 GT^2 is one of the kinematic equations.
    V1 refers to initial velocity, and since we're using this equation for the y-axis, V1 is 0 (he throws it horizontally, so there's no downward velocity on the ball when he throws it).
    Thus Y = 1/2 GT^2

    So basically you first convert the 60 ft. into meters (WHICH I DID WRONG in the picture above).
    Then, you plug the meter value of the horizontal distance (X) as well as the initial horizontal velocity (V) into X = VT.
    You solve for T, and plug in T into Y = 1/2 GT^2.
    Since G is a constant (9.8 m/s^2), you can solve for Y, your answer.

    The correct answer should be around 0.196m.

    OH ****.
    I didn't read it carefully.
    I thought it said 90 meters/second.
    JESUS CHRIST.

    Okay, brb. Making new pictar.

    OKAY HERE
    THIS IS TEH RITE 1

    Explanation:
    "X = VT" is simply "distance = velocity x time"

    Y = V1T + 1/2 GT^2 is one of the kinematic equations.
    V1 refers to initial velocity, and since we're using this equation for the y-axis, V1 is 0 (he throws it horizontally, so there's no downward velocity on the ball when he throws it).
    Thus Y = 1/2 GT^2

    So basically you first convert the 60 ft. into meters and the 90 mph into meters/second.

    The correct answer should be 2.227272727272727272727..........
