*Small FAQ on stats...*
Spoiler!I'm doing this because the "OMG WUDDO I DU FR STATS" is still occurring, and I really hate people like that.
ANYWAY, here are the basics (this is a TRAINING GUIDE, not a STATS guide, and I'm inserting this just in case you happen to look at it)
1. What stats do I need to become a Pirate?
A. You don't need to. It'll automatically reset your points and put 20 into DEX when you advance. I recommend pumping STR until level 10 so that Maple Island is easier. (After the job change, you'll start with 4/20/4/4, leave the last two at 4, and look ahead...)
Thanks to a friend for pointing this out.
2. What should I put my stats into?
A. This is much debated, but this is the BARE BONES BUILD. Don't flame me, because it works for me, kay? Brawlers should put in STR +5 until level 20, after which you put in an average of +4 STR, +1 DEX per level, for equipment. As of yet, a Dexless guide has not been produced (that I know of), but feel free to switch up the order, so you can do like +5 STR x4, +5 DEX, vice-versa, etc. Brawlers may want a little more DEX though, to hit stuff.
Gunslingers want to put some points into STR, BUT ONLY MINIMAL, because of equipment. Seriously. It doesn't boost damage, except Somersault kick, which you're not going to use later anyway. Basically, you're putting STR = level and DEX = rest. +4 DEX, +1 STR on average (over 5 level periods).
Wewt, that's my stats FAQ, stop complaining/whining/bishing/begging/noobing/etc. now guys.
The complete NOOB's LMPQ Mini guide
Spoiler!
This is here because some people don't check the QUEST HELP SECTION, which obviously has the entire and full guide to LMPQ. This is a condensed version of it, so thanks to whoever wrote the sticky in the QUEST HELP SECTION (are you getting it yet?). Also, I'm going to post the LESS THAN 1 MINUTE LMPQ walkthrough, not the full one.
Basics;
1. You get in; You end up in a room. The left door adds 4, middle adds 7, and right takes away 3 from the room number you're in. You can check what room you're in by looking at your minimized minimap.
2. There are 16 rooms in total, and only 3 matter; 6,7 and 16. Firstly, don't count in 16 when adding/subtracting, the only way you can get to 16 is through Room 9-> Middle Portal.
3. You're going to be rushing to either 6 OR 7, in teams. To get here, you're going to have to figure it out yourself. Or you can read on!
Spoiler!4. ONLY THE LEADER PICKS UP PASSES, AND I'M NOT JOKING. DON'T PICK UP YOUR PASSES, OR YOU'LL LOSE OUT ON EXP. No joke. If the leader doesn't see passes in Room 6, he'll assume none dropped.
5. If you wanna lead, read #4 very thoroughly. The leader MUST be in room 7 so that he can pass room 6 on the way to 16, and therefore get the passes in that room. If someone's picking up passes, kick them because they don't LEARN. No I'm just kidding, but I'm serious about the passes.
***Hints***
-From room 7, to get to room 6, go into the middle portal TWICE. And you'll be in room 6. From room 6, to get to room 16 (where you have to go after you're done), you go Middle, Middle, Left, Middle, and you'll be in 16. This is the fastest way because you go Middle->Portal to your spawning pt's left -> portal to your spawning pt's left -> portal to your spawning pt's left. So you just hold down up and left and you SHOULD make it through =]
-From room 6 to get to room 7, go to the left portal ONCE, and the right portal ONCE. Order doesn't matter.
-From other rooms what I do is just keep going into the center portal till I hit a familiar room, like 5,6,7,9,10,14, or 15. (For me, at least, this actually works.) DON'T GO INTO RANDOM PORTALS, YOU'LL GET LOST. Stick to one portal till you hit one of these numbers.
*Moar Hints*
You know how to get from 7->6, so... (Mid,Mid??)
This will show how you get to room 7. (If lost, think logically; From 11, to 15 you need 4, so you go to the left portal, etc.)
P.S. If you wanna get to 6 from any of these, just get rid of the last "Left, Right, or add "Mid, Mid" to the end.
-1 to 7; Mid x3
-2 to 7; Left x2, Right
-3 to 7; Left
-4 to 7; Left, Mid x2
-5 to 7; Left x2, Right x2
-6 to 7; Left, Right
-7 to 6; Mid x2
-8 to 7; Mid x2
-9 to 7; Right x2, Left
-10 to 7; Right
-11 to 7; Mid, Left
-12 to 7; Right x3, Left
-13 to 7; Right x3
-14 to 7; Mid, Left, Right
-15 to 7; Mid
GOT IT? Remember that you're ADDING, so these are reversible (like L, R you can do R, L, etc. (Order doesn't matter, in short.)
If you're actually going to add them, assume 15 = 0, 14 = -1, etc. And from 9, mid goes to 16.
To get out; Order matters, because the last one MUST be the middle portal (from room 9)
6 ->16; Mid x2, Left, Mid
7 ->16; Mid x4, Left, Mid
Everyone will be going in the same direction anyway, so just follow em.
I wish I knew this but I learned by trial and error (and I followed those other guys around xD)
*Ahem*
This is an ever-evolving guide to training spots; if you've got any good spots, feel free to discuss them here, and if you think a spot sucks, well, take it up with the suggester >_<
Many of the training spots ARE NOT MY OWN IDEAS, so please read the credits at the end.
Noob World
Spoiler!- Do the quests on Maple Island, then train around the area. Seriously, it'll take you less than half an hour to get to level 10, and DON'T WORRY ABOUT STATS. Just pump STR.
- Also note; ignore the lightbulb that shows up when you hit level 8; it'll ask you if you wanna go to whatever right away, but unless it asks to take you to Natilus, say NO.
First Job
Level 10~15
Spoiler!- I recommend Slimes, because they're just that great. Whether you're going to be a GS or a Brawler, put a few points into Sommersault Kick, and use a Pirate weapon with decent WA (like 20~25 ish at level 10). Slime Tree!
-HPQ. Omfg, HPQ. Henesys PQ will level you to 15 so fast, you'll be amazed.
HPQ is located just inside Henesys Park.
Level 16~21
Spoiler!- Pigs/Pig beach. I'd say Pig Beach because that rainforest thing near Henesys currently has Turkeys that will own you if you're a Brawler (because you won't hit them). For Brawlers, max that S Kick and for GS's, you should be using Double Shot by now.
Pig Beach
- Caution Falling Down is full of Blue Mushroom and Octopi, good for funded GS's and Brawlers who have SKick relatively high. (One map left of KC, it's an Hidden Street map. Caution Falling Down)
- At level 20, if you've got any friends willing to help you out, got to the Ariant PQ and trade-win it off. According to my contacts, you're making upwards of 5000 EXP for every win you get, and so you're getting a nice chunk of EXP. (ARPQ goes to level 30, when you should get your Job Adv. and CPQ =])
Ariant PQ NPC (Named 'Cesar')
- In the Ariant area, there are some small Cacti (Jr. Cacti) and their mothers. The babies shouldn't put up too much of a fight. Also an alternative if the above are too full. Go to the Hidden-Street for just the babies. Might be harder for GS, because there's no sniper spots, but spawn's decent.
Jr. Cactus Desert
- You can STILL HPQ until about level 18, when the EXP starts to become bad. The pig bonus at the end is decent.
Level 22~30
Spoiler!- Ok, there's a choice here;
1. Train at Ant Tunnel until level 25 and then KPQ. This is what I did, because I was hitting 400's with Sommersault Kick, which is pretty good. Also, Brawlers should have a FISH SPEAR (or better) if you wanna do this, and a bit of patience because grinding sucks.
Ant Tunnel
2. Go to KPQ right away. I don't really recommend this because you're gonna miss a lot (once again, Brawlers) unless you have maxed BT, which most wouldn't have by now. Gunslingers will NOT do very good damage on the Ligators. Do this if you have friends who can clear the PQ without you, and therefore need another person to get in. It's ridiculously hard to get in if you don't have contacts.
- The KC jump quest from Shumi. This will net you an hour or so with a large spawn of Bubblings concentrated in one area. The pain is to do the JQ over and over again.
Shumi is located beside the entrance to the Subway Station.
- Another grinding spot is in Ariant, on those funky looking rabbits. I can't tell the difference between male and female versions (except colour, duh), but other than that, they give out decent EXP. Somewhat hard to mob on, and Ant Tunnel has slightly better spawn, but much less populated by noobs who try to KS you.
Outside East Entrance Of Ariant
- Ariant PQ is a popular option if you have buddies to help you out.
- Sahel 3 in Ariant has Sand Rats (which are a _____ to kill with a sin, but I digress), which are good EXP. Go here when you can hit them for decent damage (26 ish). *Update* This map will be crawling with hackers/botters. Go at own risk.
A real life Testimony!
Spoiler!
Sahel 3The best training spot for lvls 23-28
Sand Rats 3 Maps Left of Magatia. Pretty much infinite spawn rate and they drop a whole lots of stuff. It'll take a few hits to kill them but it's 55 exp a piece, and ur usually using kick which is a mob, on average ur hitting 3 at a time= 5 hits for 165 exp. I found it to be very effective.
Spot for lvls 28-32
Scorpions 1 map left of Magaitia. Pretty much infinite spawn rate and they drop a whole lots of stuff. It'll take a few hits to kill them but it's 58 exp a piece, and ur usually using kick which is a mob, on average ur hitting 3 at a time.
I leveled up about 3 times a day here, and got from lvl 23 to lvl 30 in 2 days!!!
Sahel 1
-Most of the mini-dungeons have awesome spawn rates, so try out the one in Ant Tunnel; the EXP should be pretty good at this level. The zMush's tend to gravitate to the bottom, so check there first.
2nd Job
Level 30~40
Spoiler!- Trade-win CPQ. This is because you'll never get in with normal CPQ, since no one wants a "noob." Having friends that CPQ regularly helps. If it's impossible to break the seal of CPQ-awesomeness, then go grind at Ratz or Teddies. Brawlers should be able to hit both because of max BT, but if you can't, ZMushrooms are the way to go.
-> Talk to Spiegleman. In KC, he's at the left side of the map, in Orbis he's outside the (now defunct) ticketing booth, and in Ludi he's at the bottom left corner near the pet bear thing.
- If you don't want to CPQ, you can go and hunt Teddies or Ratz. Teddies for GS's because they drop level 30 bullets, and for Brawlers, I recommend Ratz, (Eos Tower level 100) because they mob easier.
Eos Tower 100th Floor
Terrace Hall (Teddies)
-Sand Rats is officially godly here. Gunslingers, not so much, unless you got Invis. Shot already, but for Brawlers, this is most likely THE best spot to train next to CPQ.
Sahel 3
- Sahel 1 is better now because it's easier to kill the mobs. And they drop split bullets too.
Level 35~50
Spoiler!- CPQ fo' SHO. At level 39, I'm currently still trade CPQ'ing, but I just made a level 45 Brawler buddy who's willing to help me level up ;D Woot! But yeah, CPQ, at an awesome 30,000 EXP for a Rank A win, is epic wins. Brawlers are loved at CPQ because they can mob like mad.
- Retz is good at this level range, with a nice EXP netting per kill, and they spawn easily. It could be a little hard if you don't have a solid mobbing skill for GS's, but otherwise, it's a great spot.
- Another good spot to grind is Leprechauns, because they give 1-2k in pure meso per kill. Good for money, but a little short on the EXP side. Anyway, there's lots of Jr. Wraiths to use for EXP (70 per) which make up for the relatively small amount of EXP Leprechauns give. Also note that it's usually full, and Leprechauns don't spawn very fast. You can make a killing off of these guys, because they drop high leveled equipment too (like 70+).
Swamp Bog -> Probably the best because you won't get OHKO'd by some random boss monster that randomly spawns. Watch out for those trees, they're really annoying.
- King Block Golems and Block Golems give decent EXP for a relatively low amount of HP. They also drop some nice equips, so you can make some meso off of that as well.
Hidden Tower -> By far the best spawn rate for KBG and BG. Also spawns Rombots sometimes, try to avoid them right now.
- Zeunemist research lab with the little plants in flasks and triple one. Map name is Lab - Unit 103. Better for Gunslingers because there are sniping platforms.
Lab - Unit 103
- Later you can upgrade to the Alcadno research lab @ Iron Mutae, there are still sniping platforms, so better for Gunslingers.
Lab - Area B-3
Level 50~60
Spoiler!- FoG is arather populatedplace, but it's always good for training at this level range. Not populated anymore. =P Good for brawlers due to close combat.
Forest of Golem
- Truckers at Singapore for Brawlers have an excellent EXP to HP ratio, as pointed out. Bring a ton of HP pots, because you're going to need them. Those Truckers HURT.
Suburban Area 2
- Target Dummies (Both STD's and WTD's) are good at this level; I believe STD's give out a solid 135 EXP per kill, and have 3k HP, and the map is flat. Excellent for both GS's and Brawlers.
Practice Field: Beginner -> Only STDs are in this map. Keep moving forward to access the WTD's.
- Magatia's Alcando Lab C2 moved to here, because it's good for GS's,some confirmation on this info would be nice. This place absolutely rocks. Uber fast spawn, and tons of sniping platforms. Anyway, use the sniping platforms, and the Roids drop the level 60 gun.
Lab - Area C-2
Level 60~70
Spoiler!- MP3 (Mysterious Path 3), which is near Singapore. Well not near, but kinda close.
Ok, not close, but it's near a Singapore village type thing map. Anyway, it's in the area;I think I said something about a ghost ship, which is also in the area, but I'm guessing not for you at this level. You can go inside the Ghost Ship if you want. The Spawn's pretty good, but the mobs are MUCH harder to kill (unless you stick with the Pinkies only). MP3 is better.
Mysterious Path 3
- Go to Windraiders; A guide to training there can be found HERE. At 800 EXP per kill, it's omfglol good EXP.
Third Job
Level 70~80
Spoiler!- Voodoos/Hoodoos at the Haunted Mansion are good EXP to HP, but the spawn isn't all that great. I would go to Windraiders.
Prendergast Mansion -> I can't post all the maps for V/Hoodoos, there's too many of them. Pick a pure V/Hoodoo map though. (I think the vanity room is popular)
- Stay @ Windraiders, it's STILL good EXP, and with a 2x card, 'tis even better! Yay.
- Magatia PQ is also good EXP in the low 7x's, but MAKE SURE YOU CAN STUN WELL. Everyone needs a protector, and there's a MaPQ guide on the Database;
Magatia PQ guide
Level 80~90
Spoiler!Didn't wanna copy that whole thing down/paraphrase it. Thanks Fraxian.85+ is nice for brawlers to go to Gobies, if you went the energy route.
80+ is nice for wolf spiders, again, energy route.
Both have to be energy since the terrain is unbalanced, so transform+shockwave sucks. Stun first is not bad, but you wont get the efficiency if you don't have the extra power of blast or charge.
Wolf Spider Cavern
- You can (surprise!) STILL stay at Windraiders! Because now you're destroying them very quickly, and the EXP/Hour rate will be shooting up. Yummy.
90+
Spoiler!- You'll want to stay in Leafre at this point. In the lower 90's, you'll probably stay closer to the main city, but after that, feel free to spread out to other places like Wyverns and Newties.
Fraxian says no. =P
- Start off with Kentaraus's, good spawn, and relatively unpopulated.
- If you don't like Leafre, stay in Masteria. The new mobs are awesome, especially in the higher levels, and there's that new CWKPQ, which you can join at 90 (But I'd recommend 120+)
Path of Peril -> One map above Lower Ascent, which you should be loathing. Once again, try not to fall ;]Uhm, the Mid-Late 90's are good for typhons since they really only hit for 300~400 and give really nice EXP. For people who are very funded, Night shadows are VERY good for training since there's decent mobs, but they hit very hard.
I DO NOT suggest wyvren training simply because of the platforms make it very hard to stay invincible and they hit hard too. Even harps training sucks, since if you want to kill harps, might as well kill windraiders for the same amount of EXP.
- Some people are STILL at Windraiders... Like this guy.
